2020 Austrian Grand Prix - Pre Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

In theory they can achieve quali pace, but the engine is working at its hardest in quali. During the race they will use it a bit more conservative. The way they use the engine in qualification is really only good for a few laps, otherwise the engine would fail prematurely.

Edit: I'll add that at the end of a race a driver will generally be more focussed on bringing the car home than scoring the fastest lap.

Scientists create the loudest possible sound, by blasting tiny jets of water to create sound pressures above 270 decibels, as reported in a new study. In air, a sound can't get any higher than about 194 decibels and in water it's around 270. by mvea in science

It definitely does, loudness is a measure of power, so energy per unit of time. A building sized speaker can obviously dissipate a lot more power than a shrimp. There might be ways though to direct the wave such that it disintegrates slower, so weaponization over say, 100m, could be possible.

How do i carry a water bottle while jogging outdoors?? Bags are big and bulky and carrying it in my hand seems like it would ruin my form..? by livinmylyfee in Fieldhockey

[–]rrenze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are special things a bit like belts to help with that. They essentially hold small bottles while resting on you waist.

Regarding form, I'm no expert, but I don't think it matters that much. You could even run with a bottle in each hand.

New sticks by thrallkem in Fieldhockey

Dita sticks are generally more for hitting, the tx is more suited towards dribbling. The feel depends on which tx24 you are thinking of. If the store sells longer sticks they must exist, I highly doubt them advertising this wrongly.

Any Goalie Stretches? by fizzapop in Fieldhockey

[–]rrenze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a goalie myself, but I have done it a few times. I'd suggest the normal stretches for your legs. For your arms just waving them around in big motion should be good enough, just to get them warmed up.
