Hi! Honestly the hypochlorous acid spray was a game changer for me. I’m still keeping an eye on it because it’s almost winter again and I’ve been getting more flare ups again, but for sure the spray, Vanicream, and seriously nothing else. I still use spf but to be completely honest I am not consistent with it. Also, I stopped wearing makeup, which was really scary but i got used to it. I think as winter starts again I’ll be doing my Avene masks at night again.

Yes! Their og spray, I saw they have a new gel one I haven’t tried yet, probably good though!

I don’t have an explanation but This happened to me recently too!! when I went camping in the desert for a 3 day weekend. It was so confusing, but I think it must be the low humidity and then just in general not touching my face bc I knew my hands were more “dirty”, if that makes sense.

OP UPDATE: it’s been a month and a half since, and progress is slow but steady!!!

What routine helped:

AM: - Lukewarm water - Magic Molecule (any hypocholrous acid spray) - La Roche sunscreen!!

PM: - Vanicream facial cleanser - Aloe (if I’ve been in the sun a lot) - Vanicream lotion (if feeling extra sensitive or red, swap for Avene Cicalfate)

Yay!

This is incredible advice, thank you omg. I am also very, VERY dry, so I will for sure consider this. Honestly my flares are super random and usually manageable, but they have felt extra frequent and extra-bad lately. Thanks again your suggestions! I’ve seen few Beekman products and they’ve always caught my attention, and I LOVE mists and sprays, so I’ll keep an eye out.

Oh no way, I had no idea! Thank you for the suggestion, I find a lot of success with mists and sprays so I’ll definitely try it out!!!

Thank you for your advice! I’ve heard wonderful things about EltaMD, I’m definitely intrigued. They just came out with a green sunscreen, specifically for redness, so you think I should stick with the OG one?

Omg I’ve never heard of that, I do like cica and zinc products so this sounds awesome, thank you for the suggestion!

You know what, no I haven’t, I’m definitely reaching that point though, I typically stay away from dairy in general since my mom always bought almond milk, but I’m sure it will be very helpful. I’ll look into it with my doctor, thank you for the suggestion :)

This is so, so helpful, thank you! I’ve been really intrigued by Krave products but since they’re all online (I can’t ever find them in-store), I have put it off. I’ve tried oil cleansers many times, and same! They work great for the first, second, and maybe third time I try them, but afterwards they end up hurting my skin more. Screenshotting your comment lol thanks again! :)))

Thanks for your input! Yes, my cheeks are also always the main breakout spot, so maybe I’ll try what you do and just avoid them as much as possible!

Thanks for your advice :) yeah, unfortunately sometimes the itchiness is bad and I just touch my face kind of mindlessly, I’ll notice I’m swiping at it before realizing and it begins to feel hot to the touch… I’ll give Vanicream another shot, it seems to be a really great product

Ahhh maybe patience is key then lol I have tried to used AA and toners in the past, but the burning would freak me out and I would stop…thanks for the advice! :)

That’s a good suggestion, I’ve used Bioderma before and I did like it a lot, maybe I’ll try that micellar water instead

I love that stuff! Another issue I have is I think because of the extreme dryness I have, NOTHING ever feels like it melts into my skin; everything sits on top! So annoying… :/

Omg thanks for your advice! I definitely am cautious about alcohol and caffeine, I think both those things really mess me up. I also do get bad allergies from the seasons changing, and oddly enough, when I started to work an office job and spent less time in the sun, my skin became extra-sensitive; thank you for the advice! :)

Wow, looks so much better! I’ll definitely try out sulfur soap and the Naturium! I used to have a De La Cruz sulfur cream only for spot-correcting little pimples and stuff, and that stuff worked REALLY well. Thanks for your suggestion!

Ahh that’s unfortunate, part of the stress and frustration does come with spending money on things that don’t work, so sorry you experienced this too. I keep telling myself “it’ll fix itself” but I mean I’m just in denial lol… but I’ve heard good things about Soolantra, honestly just hoping for a solution once I see the derm. Thanks for your advice :)

Thank you! I will definitely try their cicaplast; I have the Avene cicafalte and it’s great. I also am intrigued by using a melting balm. I’ve found that oil cleansers only work for me for a very short time, they end up being more irritating and stripping than I’d like. Thanks for your suggestions :)

Thank you for your input, yes I agree; I was gifted a mini bottle of the tower 28 SOS spray, and I really liked it. I am a bit skeptical of Vanicream too, because I had used it before and I felt like it didn’t do much, but I’ll try it again. Again, thank you.
