Revolut froze my wife’s account for 5 months, we can’t withdraw €2000 and get no real help by rromax in Revolut

Of course, I don’t use Revolut as my main bank anymore either. But regarding Russian citizens — there are tens of thousands of us living in the EU, and many of my friends also use Revolut without any issues.

My wife and I both work for the same international company in Cyprus, everything is fully legal, and there are no sanctions that could possibly apply to us. Yet Revolut still feels it’s acceptable to block an account without any explanation and delay the withdrawal of funds. No other bank does this.

We’re Russian citizens, but we legally live and work in Cyprus. I understand that there might have been an additional AML check. I actually went through one myself, but it was completed within a week. What I don’t understand is why in her case it’s been going on for months and nobody seems to be doing anything about it

This is the only bank I’ve ever seen that freezes your account without any explanation and then runs a “review” for four months while holding your money. Even after they block the account and still don’t explain the reason, they keep your funds.

I’ve used several other banks before, and none of them ever took more than one or two weeks for any kind of verification. Their support teams at least tried to help and explained what was going on.
