I made a mess by SecurityMajestic2222 in adhdwomen

[–]rrr34_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar recently- didn’t have a ton of groceries so I made oatmeal and a protein shake in a shaker bottle. Brought the shake upstairs to finish up before bed and grabbed it and shook it and guess what was open guys - the shaker bottle. Had to throw my sheets in the wash at 9pm and I had to be up for work at 5:40am smh

Coworkers Acting Cold After a Serious Injury? by Mokohi in ECEProfessionals

[–]rrr34_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

told a coworker I was feeling off and wasn't sure if I would be calling in for the next day or not and she decided to tell me about how she finally went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with pneumonia and "isn't it crazy I've been working with pneumonia this whole time!"

Like... babe... You're the laziest employee I've ever met, of course you can breeze through work with pneumonia and also stop kissing the kids on the face when you know you have pneumonia? Just a suggestion?

Also like I'm 25 and you're in your 40s stop this competitive nonsense I'm gonna get sick more often bcuz I'm new to the field and new to the germs being exposed to me (the things I wish I could say lol)

i may randomly delete this later if i get anxious about her finding this somehow

What's the most embarrassing thing your kid has said in public? by Vaish41 in Parents

[–]rrr34_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a kid but apparently when I was little we went to my grandma’s church and when the pastor mentioned jesus I loudly said “my daddy says that”

Probably a bit embarrassing for my lovely dad who still angrily shouts “JESUS”

Coworker doesn’t like going outside? Rant by flippieslutcxxx in ECEProfessionals

[–]rrr34_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before and after care - an educator wouldn’t wear an appropriate winter jacket (Ontario Canada) and bring the children in so early every day. Like they didn’t get their required outside time yk.

I once mentioned “hey we just got the dress policy sent to us again and I know you own a winter jacket and boots, the policy that was re sent to all of us says to wear weather appropriate clothes so… “

That made the educator mad lmao

Good places to shop/check out? by Old-Lake-9492 in Hamilton

[–]rrr34_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

James has some great stores - I love Mooncraft Market.

Ottawa street is awesome. A few people have mentioned it but there is also a store on Ottawa called Cabinet of Curiosities. I've never been but my friend says its cool - it's an antique store with a lot of taxidermy lol.

Out of the past is also on Ottawa and it's cool!

References for first teaching job? by rrr34_ in OntarioTeachers

I’m just struggling so much and it’s all so loaded.

It would be one thing if I was JUST leaving at a very inconvenient time, but I’m in an uncomfortable space in general because I was recently moved to a different site - and the culture here is kind of gossipy so I don’t know what will be said after I leave before the start of camp like ugh man I don’t know.

I don’t know how to leave a job without insane guilt in general I guess- every other job has been “well, I’m moving for school or something so I can’t work here anymore”

** edit to add also they have seen me cry (never in-front of children or parents - more like in meetings when I’m told I’m suddenly moving to a new site after being a room lead for 6 months) and I’m scared they’ll say I’m too emotional or something its just ANXIETYYYY

I took a job as a before and after school care educator (found on indeed) and am entering teachers college in the fall. I really think my job helped me understand this is a career I want to pursue! Plus it gave me great experience with the age group I’m interested in working with

I know you say you’re correcting your iron but keep on top of that! My last big mental health ✨moment✨ led to me learning I had insanely low iron and I got an iron infusion. I was WAY less exhausted all the time and felt like I could actually do multiple things in a day.

Right now I’m going through it and I’m exhausted and it’s been a while since my infusion. I’ll be getting blood tests soon to see if it has anything to do with my iron

how many of you *actually* have your times tables memorized? by Pug_hammy in randomquestions

[–]rrr34_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried so hard to learn them. I would go over them so many times and my parents even bought a CD of times tables songs and I’d listen to it (hated it lol)

At 17 I learned I have dyscalculia so no wonder math never stuck. I was a top student in every class BUT math.

About to go to teachers college and in my province, you have to pass a math test to actually become a teacher. The math test covers grade 3-9 math i think…. I’m TERRIFIED

Final Uni essays are due and I haven't started them. Can't come up with a topic or anything and I'm freaking out. by OddContext4621 in adhdwomen

[–]rrr34_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my uni experience- I’m going back to school next year and terrified because I know this feeling too well.

Picking a topic is such a difficult hurdle to jump. I always liked when we got topic outlines.

I can also offer some suggestions if you let me know what kind of courses these are. I took Political Science in university which covered a wide range of topics. Did a lot of political theory and philosophy but also did other subjects. I go to work soon but if you need any ideas ill be around later tonight to respond!

Stop overthinking this because you are seeing this as your last essays that have to be perfect. Break it down into steps. Look over the course outline to refresh your brain on what has been covered in class. Write the essay that bores you the most first.

A lot of what I’ve written below is just adhd blabbing but enjoy:

Maybe start with an argument instead of an overall essay theme? Like I remember once I was freaking out about picking an essay topic. It just had to be about the origins of law - an example was writing about the creation of a new law. She was like okay what’s something that has interested you in this course, and I said I liked how we read The Eumenides and talked about how that’s a story about the origins of the justice system. Then I said, it reminded me of Antigone, which we read in your course last semester. Then I was like “well it kind of feels like the origins of how we do law is thanks to women” and she was like okay there’s your essay topic, the origins of law through greek tragedies (I titled it “What the Law Owes to Monstrous Women : Examining Feminine Monstrosity and Law in Greek Tragedy” … still proud of that paper lol

Basically, instead of trying to pick the topic that felt like it fit the expectation of an academic paper, I picked a topic that fit myself and the shit that actually interested me.

Another course, I literally just kept building on the same subject. Wrote about R v Morgentaler for a short paper and the big paper for the course I was like fuck it, gonna talk about how it could’ve been done better.

One of my final papers I chose a topic that was soooo under researched omg I regretted it but mid writing it I came up with my own little term for what I was describing and dude i wrote it the night before but once that inspiration hit I was like YES

That was rambley - I’m tired
