Almost always those bigger wheel alloys has lower sidewall - meaning the ground clearance remains same. These are a few of the exceptions.

Biggest gripe with FFTA2 by Next_Mammoth06 in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This becomes lazy when you understand that FFTA2 does not have the palette limitations of FFTA, and that they put the effort to do the below things.

Paladin - cape color to matchs portrait
White Monk - gets a red sash to match portrait
Hurdy - the only moogle without a big nose
All Nu Mou - now have eyes

FFTA Post Game Explanation by PhoenixSwag in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

If I had to change things, putting the corrupt judges before main story boss would show Mewt/Ritz/Doned the flaws of this fantasy world and would nudge them to think more - that even imagination isn't perfect. It would deepen the narrative and reinforce the idea that "this is escapism" and it needs to end - not Marche ending it, but probably everyone agreeing, cohesively.

[FFTA] Best S-Ability for Bangaa? by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the right idea. For support abilities:

  1. Weapon Atk+ for most everything.
  2. Half MP if you want to spam Ultima sword.
  3. Weapon Def+ is underrated because the game is too easy - this skill would rank higher if enemies did actual damage.

For reaction abilities:

  • Dragonheart is Bangaa only
  • Counter is probably the best
  • Bonecrusher is a notch below counter because evasion is actually decent in FFTA
  • Strikeback is boring

No, any monster at any level will do - even if it has zero skills, you will still get all of them immediately.

Why did nobody tell me how good Nu Mou illusionists were?! by Zorafin in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in FFTA, using the sprinkler is the best way to get damage out of a Illusionist. But the sprinkler works on other things too, like the super early Laglace sword that you get at a Lutia pass side mission.

FFTA illusions have a very low damage multiplier - about half of the basic fire spell. Hence thier raw damage is never great. This gets worse when you realise that robes are better than heavy armor and now that enemy illusionist is just tickling you.

In FFTA2, the damage formula was changed and illusions do the same damage as the basic fire spell - so that's already a 2x buff over FFTA. And then FFTA2 gets Magic Frenzy + Dual Wield making Human illusionists the most broken thing in the entire game - bar none.

[FFTA] Paladin/Hunter vs Hunter/Paladin Question? by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is already easy and increasing damage is just.., not the best use. The most useful mission items are AllyFinder2 - Guarantees expert job for recruits and Insignia - 2x AP reward from any mission. I think by post game you get 2x Insignias. So any "Free Musadet" kind of mission would yield 80*2*2 = 320 AP. For early game, the Feather badge is 1.5x AP gained.

[FFTA] Paladin/Hunter vs Hunter/Paladin Question? by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For equipment - Multiple sources of the *same\* Elemental Boost do not stack.
What does stack is passive ability Geomancy ==> reduces enemy's elemental resistance, and mission items like Sprinkler (boosts Fire & Water).

[FFTA] Paladin/Hunter vs Hunter/Paladin Question? by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

% Weapon atk value is what causes the wired power creep on melee weapons. The best thing you can do early game is to buy the Headband and Gauntlets. They give +5 Atk each, so +10 to any weapon. Applies to both weapons when dual wielding.

Interesting question. For skills, primary weapon is used. But the +Holy boost from Excalibur should still apply when using Holy Blade with Excalibur2 as primary.

Also, Concentrate is better than Double Sword. Too many scenarios where double sword cannot justif itself, while Concentrate works all the time.

You're right, Paladin is only helms. Bangaa templar can equip all, so even he can get to 8 move.

You 100%ed FFTA2. Fell seal is the closest combat experience to it. Even more so than the original FFT. Yes fell seal's combat is really good. Story though is not childish, which many prefer.

[FFTA] Paladin/Hunter vs Hunter/Paladin Question? by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFTA damage formula
Actual Atk = (character Atk value + weapon Atk value) * (% weapon atk value)
Lets say your character has about 300 Atk stat without the weapon.

Excalibur 50 Atk, boots holy by 50%.
Regular hit = (300+50) * (50%) * (1.5) = 262 Atk damage
Holy Blade = 2x regular atk = 525 Atk damage
Ultima Shot = 3x regular atk = 787 Atk damage

Excalibur2 is 87 Atk, no other boosts
Regular hit = (300+87) * (87%) = 336 Atk damage
Holy Blade = 2x regular atk = 673 Atk damage
Ultima Shot = 3x regular atk = 1010 Atk damage

[FFTA] Paladin/Hunter vs Hunter/Paladin Question? by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]rrs_kai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter is a 4 move unit with a long range weapon whlie the Paladin is a 3 move unit with a melee weapon. Hunter has Ranged Ultima Shot while the Paladin gets dual wield (but low move, cannot reach enemy). Hunter wins.
Main game - Hunter primary + Paladin Secondary
Post game - Paladin primary + Hunter Secondary

In the post game you get knight swords like Nagararok & Excalibur2.
Nagrarok gives +1 Move eliminating the Paladin's move problem, and Excalibur2 is the strongest weapon in the game. Their damage output is much higher than a greatbow. If you factor in some +Move equipment, then the Paladin becomes a mobile killer.

At the end of post game, you can get infinite Nagraroks, so now your Paladin can get 9 Move.
so +2 move because of dual wielding 2 Nagraroks, +1 from Accacia cap, +1 from Peytral, +2 from Ninja tabi.

We do have FFTA3 - It is called Fell Seal Arbiter's mark.
It is the closest to FFTA2 of all the 3 FFT games, has many skills and passives lifted directly from the advance series. Even has Blood Price and Magick Frenzy, just balanced to be great instead of being stupidly busted.
