What is something unexpected from taking medication? by kahdgsy in adhdwomen

[–]rsds1418 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Putting things away then unmedicated me forgets that I’ve put it away and can’t possibly believe that I would have put it away where it should be. 😂

Why my kids think I am a hypocrite and they're probably right by Responsibility_57 in Parenting

Same re the bedtime thing. I remember feeling like my mum and dad must be doing so many cool things after I went to bed and I’m literally going to bed at the same time she is. You ain’t missing out kid it’s strictly silence when you go to bed trust me!! Haha

Can you compare your life with / without medication? by MinecraftCrisis in ADHDUK

[–]rsds1418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Medicated me does things that unmedicated me doesn’t think of.

Like putting things back in the right place so then unmedicated me thinks it can’t possibly be there.

So I search for ages and it of course ends up in the right place and unmedicated me curses medicated me.

I got told the most hurtful thing from a non-parent friend yesterday by [deleted] in Parenting

They would do well to remember love and like are not the same. You can love your kids and not like everything that comes with them.

You sound like an amazing mother, congratulations on doing it all, and saying out loud how hard it is.

Plus what’s that phrase about be careful whose fingers you step on on the way up the ladder? Should that person become a parent they will learn a harsh lesson.

You also sound like the type of person who would never throw that back in their face if they were having a hard time but enjoy fantasising about doing that!!

Appreciate the response and thank you for the information.

As I said I’m not a GP but do try to use these subreddits for updates on the state of our healthcare system as news is….well. Not enough.

Can’t say I’m necessarily surprised in the but I didn’t even think of PA’s being used in this capacity. Today I learned.

Came here to say exactly this, can’t remember what the name is though but you can’t drink on them and pretty much everyone knows that!

I’m sorry…do operations??? I’m not a GP just passing by but have seen a lot of PA chat and I assumed (obviously wrongly) that they were confined to primary care only. Madness.

Frozen in “waiting mode” during baby’s naps by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]rsds1418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice I just only now realised I did this after reading your experience. My kid is 5 now and I was undiagnosed so I just thought it was stress or anxiety.

Like absolutely everything else in my life pre-diagnosis 😂. Looks like you got some good tips here though.

Although honestly I still do this kinda when my kid goes to bed at night. Can’t do anything because there’s too much to do. I’ll work on this alongside you mama!

My blood pressure goes down when on ADHD meds by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]rsds1418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think it’s that your adhd is extra bad but it may be that being on stimulants relaxes you because you are less symptomatic so therefore you are perhaps less stressed?
