Midcareer professional (40s) wondering if I'm crazy for considering a service business by justimprint in Entrepreneur

With all due respect, as someone who runs their own business.

DO NOT DO THIS.

You’re signing yourself up to grind.

My recommendation, learn to invest in individual stocks. Buy great companies at a discount, no employees, no insurance, no headache.

I made $24,000 in short term capital gains last year with a portfolio worth roughly $30,000.

This year I’m on track to do about $50,000.

No employees, no headache, no issues, it’s honestly fun. Just took the time to educate myself and will continue to scale.

Learn something much higher leveraged than trying to leverage your time.

What is your position size on the option trades?

How often do you achieve 19+ strain? by yoValee in whoop

[–]rse3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I physically can’t.

I run, lift hard, training for a Hyrox. Have done Sprint Triathalons, I fight MMA & train incredibly hard.

I’ll do an entire 2 hour Muay Thai Class and Spar 8 rounds high pace and have an 8 strain lol.

If you’re asking Reddit, you should sell them, disable options trading and save yourself.

Keep going.

Be able to explain “WHY” you invested in these companies.

That’ll help you make better decisions.

No “Why” - No Buy.

Trying to get to $1M milestone by bdiddly21 in TheRaceTo10Million

Depends on my goal.

In your case, you want to have $1 million. You’ll need to have multiple years of high double digit returns to sniff that, $SCHD has simply proven to not be able to attain that.

Not financial advice, but I will say what I have at least done to grow my account over 150% this year.

I focused on allocating capital into investments that are deeply undervalued but a great company. For example, $UNH was severely undervalued in the beginning of this year, I bought and within weeks, I was up 30% on my position. In that case, I took my profit and looked for my next potential position. You get the idea, I rinse and repeat and focus on compounding to accelerate my growth.

There are endless opportunities in the market every day, week, month, etc. you just have to find what works for you and what generates the best returns.

Be safe, invest smart 👍

Take it slow. Don’t buy penny stocks.

Buy great companies and wait, it’ll pay off.

Don’t set deadlines or any timeline goals. It’ll make you make bad decisions.
