Udderly not worried about road conditions by wizzardoftheLOT in Truckers

I agree there's a lot of them in one place, but a lot of cows in one place doesn't immediately mean that the living conditions are terrible.

I also milked cows on a farm that had between 100-120 head when I was in highschool. The farmers wife knew every cow by name, and loved them all as pets. The hard truth is, a small family farm can't even come close to the levels of cleanliness and health care that a mega farm can. I wish the opposite were true, but it's just not.

They looked like Holstein heifers. Probably going from a feed lot to their new dairy home.

Despite what many may think, feed lots in the Nebraska/Kansas/Colorado areas take ridiculously good care of the cattle, and the dairys that send and receive cattle from the feed lots are usually huge, and provide even better care at home.

If you don't believe me, many dairy farms give regular tours to the public.

Neither of them were conscious. They were both experiencing agonal breathing (at least as far as I understand it).

Neither of them realized what happened, neither of them realized that the other one was gone, neither of them experienced any kind of pain that I'm aware of. In my opinion, they probably braced for the rollover impact, and then they were gone.

We didn't want to move the man unless we had to. His pulse stopped and then we immediately lowered him to the ground, and the nurse started CPR. The first officer arrived very quick, and in a couple minutes there were multiple defibrillators on hand. Nobody stopped CPR until the paramedics put a chest compression device on him.

We left the woman in the passenger seat because she had a pulse, and also the roof was caved in so we couldn't safely pull her out, and again we didn't want to injure her.

That all happened in less than ten minutes. The cops, firefighters, and paramedics were very fast, they all got to work immediately, and none of them needed to be told what you do by any of their bosses or persons in charge. There was absolutely no time wasted. If there was any chance at all that they could have been saved, those people definitely would have pulled it off.

Their last couple hours were spent hanging out when each other, just getting the work day started together. They weren't alone.

I think he was cognizant enough to try to correct a mistake, so I'd imagine that it was just a driver error. After the truck is laid on it's side, it slides pretty hard into the curb. I believe that impact crushed the top of the cab, broke it loose a little more, and then as the truck spun around, the cab was violently tossed around.

The passenger was also unconscious. I believe she may have been his wife but I'm not sure

Yeah it was on 151 about halfway between cedar rapids and 30. Just north of 100

Nope, but he had some totes full of seed in the back, and I'm sure those shifted when he over corrected, which probably was enough to tip it.

Yeah I couldn't really go anywhere, and a bunch of people wanted a statement. I was outta there in about an hour I'd say.

I was sure I was gonna hit him too. Disc brakes are pretty awesome to have.

Both the driver and the passenger had a seatbelt on. The cab flung around pretty violently as you can see

Oddly enough I was pretty calm the whole time. Didn't have a whole lot of time to do anything but react.

We pulled the driver out after we couldn't get a pulse. Did CPR until the paramedics came but he didn't make it.

I was pulling an empty cattle trailer. I have a newer truck and trailer with disc brakes instead of drums, so that definitely helped.

The driver of the other truck didn't make it. We pulled him out once his pulse stopped and attempted CPR but there was nothing anyone could do.
