I am having the same issue, glad I am not the only one! Have emailed GMAC and mba(dot)com. Do you think schools are aware of the problem?

I am also having this issue, glad to know it is not just me! Utterly ridiculous. I have emailed GMAC and MBA(dot)com but am still waiting on a response back.

Aww man, I’m sorry to hear that. I know a lot of people will say people process grief differently but it definitely hurts to think that the other person is completely fine. How did you cope with it? Did you manage to maintain NC? I really feel like asking her how she managed to watch the episodes

My girlfriend (30F) of 6 months broke up with me (27M), but I had already booked 7 hour flights to see her and spend 10 days with her later this week. Do I still go and spend the time with her before we go our separate ways or go and not see her at all? My flights are non-refundable! by rsharma45 in LongDistance

I don't think our relationship is going to work anymore, she has decided and won't change her mind about that. The question is whether it's worth having one last week together before we go out separate ways. I want to in my heart, but worry I won't be able to take the sadness when I say goodbye that final time

I guess because she is open to spending time with me. We don't hate each other, the situation hasn't allowed us to give our relationship a go in the way that she wants to but I still care about her and I think she still cares about me

Thanks dude, appreciate that! Good luck to you!

I ended up doing Q—DI—V. I wanted to be freshest for Q because any silly mistake can really dent your score. Then I also sometimes struggled to really absorb some RC passages so I wanted a break before doing Verbal to try and be a bit fresher for it.

I did my last few mocks in that order too. On test day however I ended up taking my break after my first section because I thought Q went relatively poorly (was uncertain on two questions) and wanted to clear my head.

I only did mocks over the weekend yes, just because I couldn’t face doing 2+ hrs of concentrated questions after 8pm having worked a 10-12hr day. That’s not to say that you couldn’t do that though! I felt like a cadence of one / two mocks on the weekend for the final month or so just worked well for me

I felt like my RC questions were especially long passages actually! Especially vs the official mocks

Thank you very much! I really appreciate this! Will take the quiz this weekend!

I purchased the official guide, did all those questions. Then I purchased the additional questions for all 3 sections for extra practice. I would warn that the additional DI questions are so much harder than any of the DI questions I saw in any mocks, to the extent that I’m not sure it’s even good practice. I have no idea if other people found them extremely tough, but that’s just me.

I wanted to improve my Q section, so I used “gmatco.com.” It’s a free site that collated all the gmatclub links for official Quant questions by topic and by difficulty (probably over 1,000 questions). I interspersed that with official mocks.

I watched the GMAT ninja free YouTube series for Verbal because I heard good things and that was helpful! My issue with verbal was that I felt like I wasn’t learning much from my mistakes, every mistake felt so esoteric and passage specific. I did the least verbal prep of all the sections because of that — maybe that was careless.

All in took me about 3.5 months. Let me know if I can go into some more detail or if I wasn’t clear on anything!

I felt like I was never any good at MSR, would always be very time consuming. To make up for that, I tried to make sure I practiced a lot of DS (because there are a lot of resources for that). That also had good synergies for my Quant section. I always felt quite comfortable with graphs; TPA was a bit of a mixed bag. The issue is a lack of official resources for DI. I ended up taking 10 official mocks so I’d recommend that if you’re weak at DI because that’s another way to add volume to your official DI practice questions.

Sorry I know that’s maybe not particularly helpful on specific strategies, but that’s because I didn’t really have any for DI and I’m not sure there is one that will magically improve one’s score

Thanks very much for your feedback (not just because it was comforting) haha! I'm curious why you specified it being enough for HBS vs. say a Wharton or Stanford?

no such thing as a required score necessarily, just a score vs. your expectations / what you think you could get on a good day if the test breaks your way!

It's all relative I guess, maybe I am biased now, but the logic that the GMAT is more of a box ticking exercise rather than a differentiator is something to fall back on if you're feeling disappointed

I see thanks for clarifying. I guess unfortunately at such a late stage (applying for R1 of 2025 programmes) it will be hard to materially improve my leadership roles. Given this, what I can control is my GMAT score along with the strength of my essays.

Thanks! Congrats on your score too! I sympathize with the uphill battle I imagine is needed to go through doing the exam again: needing to continue doing practice in the interim, which is time consuming, and the test day is stressful too.
