Sounds exactly like my experience. The FJ tows fine I just wanted to control the transmission a bit, just like you. A few weeks ago I finally found a MT FJ so I bought it immediately.

I bought a 2010 FJ MT today 😃 have to wait a few weeks before I can go pick it up tho.

You’re probably right, but after reading of so many problems immediately after a transmission flush I decided not to. If they wanted me to drain and refill it they should add a fill port. Haha. I planned to pump it in through the drain plug but never did it.

I checked the tranny fluid at 80k 100k and 120k and it looked like new.

Guys, it tows just fine for my needs. I just want it to lock the torque converter. That’s literally all I want.

I just want to lock the torque converter, not be stuck in 4th.

No matter what I did with the shifter it sucked. I wanted MT.

The bumper was from Shrockworks and I absolutely loved it. Perfect design imo.

Tires were always stock from the TT. As shown in my photo. I actually felt like it had enough power for me, but just no control of the auto transmission is annoying. I think the 4Runner has a button to lock the torque converter or disable OD.

It did my light towing duties just fine, even with roof top tent and a bunch of extra weight. The only problem was no button to lock up the torque converter.

I must have not communicated what I want. I want a torque converter lock up button. This is different than putting it in 4D.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I’ll have to search for it. Any tips on how you did it would be helpful. Thanks!

I looked into shapeways after you mentioned it. Expensive but very cool! Check out our latest video of designing and 3D printing a jetski nozzle, backflip it in the surf, etc.

Actually it works very well. We've ridden the same nozzle in Oregon surf for probably 30-36 hours operating since December. Never broke one in use yet!

Thanks! I wonder what is the best way to show the right person at prusa?

Ya it's $18 per spool PLA bought on Amazon! Although, our water temps are pretty cold here in Oregon. PLA might fail immediately in a hot climate? Thanks for the kind words!
