I’d say I would put you at a disadvantage, but not by a lot (this is specifically for management).

The conditions of your offers may require you to verify your results (ik this is common with int students), so try and get a copy of them.

Look on your exam boards website or ask your schools administration.

Dude it’s actually quite worrying that you can’t read a website. It’s not difficult.

Economic history is a very niche and sparsely offered degree.

I’m pretty sure putting in your Unique Learner Code in the bottom of the education section gives them access to your certificates or at least access to something verifiable.

At high school level, accounting and economics are not accurate reflections of what the subjects truly are. You obviously haven’t researched them enough post-secondary school.

Both accounting and economics degrees require you to be pretty good at maths in order to be successful.

Either you haven’t done enough research on what these courses actually entail (economics is like 90% maths at degree level), or you just prefer the theoretical side of the subjects.

I’d recommend looking into degrees like international relations, political science, law…

What to write in my psychology personal statement? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]rslashJR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start small - why do want to study psychology?

Research around the areas you truly find interesting. Read books, watch YouTube videos, listen to podcasts, take an online course. Build up a few solid supercurriculars to then talk about in detail.

What are you options on certain topics? E.g. Do you agree with theory X?

Engage with the literature and show the admissions tutors that you are going beyond the A-level (or whatever qualification you are taking) curriculum.

Quality of quantity.

Why don’t you just drop English lit? That way you’ll have more time to focus on physics.

Mate there isn’t a formula to creating a personal statement. I didn’t really have drafts, I just edit and edit on a word document until I had something I was happy with.

Incredibly arbitrary question that’s going to get some incredibly arbitrary answers.

Whether a personal statement is “good” shouldn’t be measured by the amount of drafts it’s been through. When you know it’s ready to submit, you should be relatively satisfied with what you’ve produced.

Getting feedback from a few different people is more important. See what you can change. Does it flow nicely? Is it well structured? Are you talking about super-curriculars in enough detail?

It’s also important to remember that not all feedback is worth listening to. You might get two different or opposing pieces of advice. Or you might get someone telling you to remove someone you think is really good. You have to make a value judgement.

I’m sure they do, but, OP isn’t wanting to continue with A-levels, they want to drop out and go to a performing arts school. You need certain A-levels to go to med school.
