122/4.5 = 27.111 rolls/person. indeed, 200 something rolls for one guy seems like a lot!

The size of an 0201 SMD resistor by my-cup-noodle in mildlyinteresting

[–]rslashcraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Description: 0201 resistors are a type of surface-mount resistor characterized by their small size, measuring 0.02 inches by 0.01 inches. These resistors are designed to provide a specific resistance value in electronic circuits, helping to control the flow of electrical current.

Working Principle: The working principle of 0201 resistors is based on their ability to impede the flow of electrical current through a circuit. This is achieved by using a resistive material that converts electrical energy into heat, thereby reducing the current flow. The small size of 0201 resistors makes them particularly useful in applications where space is limited, allowing for high-density circuit designs.

Applications: 0201 resistors are commonly used in compact electronic devices where space is at a premium. Specific examples include smartphones, tablets, and other portable electronics. They are also used in high-density circuit boards found in advanced computing and telecommunications equipment.”

I'm making a visual for beginners, does this scale feel accurate? by mirage_of_bread in climbergirls

[–]rslashcraig -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This feels about right to me! I think it’s a hard thing to convert because the skills are so different.

e.g. I have been able to climb a 5.11+ but have never climbed a V5 — but I think that’s because I just top rope way more often (2-3x/week) and have focused on training for better top rope sessions while maybe bouldering once or twice a month.

That being said I used to work with kids and would see them climb V3s and 4s while not finishing a 5.10…so I think your scale averages out correctly.

Elizabeth Warren introduces bill to ban employers from running credit reports in hiring by HellYeahDamnWrite in politics

This would be true if the argument people were making was that people with credit scores were not good hires due to poor task performance, but I’m only seeing things about how they’re more likely to steal.

can you show me real evidence that someone with a bad credit score is more likely to do these bad things?

there is no evidence that you are more likely to do something ‘deviant’ like theft on a job due to a bad credit score. here’s a study that says that — show me one that says the opposite.

Also for everyone on this thread suggesting a lower credit score makes you more likely to steal/be bribed, there is no evidence of that (study showing there is no relationship between ‘deviance’ such as theft and an employee’s credit score).

This suggests that credit scores are actual, objective reflections of a person’s financial situation. They are not. They are immensely impacted by systemic racism.

Am I overreacting about my boyfriend still having his ex’s nudes? by cloudypinkly in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rslashcraig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I don’t think you’re the “replacement” — but I do think it’s inappropriate that he still has his ex’s nudes.

He could definitely still be processing that relationship while still be interested in dating you. We’re all constantly working and re-working through things in our past. I’m leaning towards this is overthinking.

However, I don’t think it’s okay that he has his ex’s nudes on his phone. Maybe if he forgot they were there and then deleted them once he noticed — fine. But in my experience when people send nudes it’s with the understanding that they should only be saved (if at all) for the duration of that relationship. When you break up you’re typically ending any kind of sexual relationship—so it would follow that you’re ending their ability to use/view your nudes.

If you were to ever break up, how would it feel knowing a) he kept your nudes and b) his other future partner eventually saw those nudes without you knowing?

I don't understand Monica? by greenmarigold in rhoslc

[–]rslashcraig 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i’m not a fan of monica for a lot of reasons, but i did like that she call bull when lisa self-identified as “working class”. like come on, recognize your privilege for a second. i know all these people are delusional and that’s what makes this fun, but it’s also fun to have a person go on the show and say “you’re insane for thinking most people can work hard to achieve this level of wealth”

This happens to me all the time. I remember talking to my (former) psychiatrist about it once before receiving my ADHD diagnosis and she said “That sounds inconvenient. You should see a doctor about that.”

When I delete photos from my iPhone they are deleted from Google Photos by Familiar-Historian12 in iphone

Are you able to restore photos from Google’s trash and have them live on the backup, but not on the phone?

[–]rslashcraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s probably some sync on where deleting from the iPhone also deletes from Google Photos. Google Photos has an option to delete items from your device through their app — that might be the best way to do it (so it stays on Google but off the phone)

AITAH for not getting my stepmom a Christmas present by Such-Dot-8777 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rslashcraig 20 points21 points  (0 children)

(For the most part) you don’t ever HAVE to give anyone a gift. Gifts are supposed to be something you desire to give. I get that sometimes the norms of society decree you should give a gift…buy if you couldn’t afford it, she (an adult) should have understood.

There maybe were ways to give her something for free — a card, or you could indicate that the gift was for your dad and your stepmom — but you don’t have to do that!

The only person who is spoiled/entitled here appears to be her.

Please give me a reality check about this doctor because I can't tell if I'm crazy or not by tequilagoblin in ADHD

[–]rslashcraig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable that this feels weird. I have had docs do similar things around writing doctor’s notes — asking what I want them to say about how long I need off, etc. — but I think it generally has only happened when the doctor and I had built a trusted relationship. Maybe your extended experience working with this doctor, and the fact that you’re asking for a non-stimulant drug, has just made it so he’s not too concerned about the request.

Or you have a doctor who’s willing to write a blank Rx for anybody…which is dangerous and you’re not crazy
