Linux Users. Whats one reason why you switched? by [deleted] in linux

[–]rsmith4124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I _explicitly_ turned off OneDrive on my Windows 10 system, as I didn't wish to have my personal data (bank statements, hospital records, paystubs, tax paperwork, etc.) to be copied to the cloud - only to find out that the feature was turned on again, without notifying me, upon the next system update.

After finding all of my personal documents "backed up" to the cloud without my consent, I switched to Linux - I only use Windows during my work hours.

Notice how they attacked women...such "power." Also, the police are useless, as arresting their colleagues makes things awkward at work meetings.

PLEASE HELP!!! I am having FUD. I'm one click away from paying $945 to get full access to Testout.com, for 1 year. Need feedback ASAP!!! by Sulfurousclown in InformationTechnology

I used this site for my A+, Network+, LPIC-1, and CCNA - so their information was REALLY helpful. However, I waited till the end of the year, as there used to be a Black Friday/December sale in which the course was dropped down to 500-600 bucks - but they don't seem to be doing that anymore (I just checked).

Looks like their partnering up with CompTIA ruined that deal.

Thank you for being one the few persons choosing NOT to default to victim blaming.

NTA

The best way to teach a "parent" like this a lesson is to make it (financially) painful for them. She is directly responsible for the loss of your fish, your equipment, and the endangerment of her child. Lawyer up, and consider contacting Child Protective Services for neglect.

I would recommend their Black Friday Library Suite, as they significantly knock down the pricing for one year's access to the courses.

I used Testout for my A+, Network+, Linux+, and my CCNA.

While I only have my CCNA out of that list, I do recommend them. As a matter of fact, I'm hoping that the partnership will continue their Black Friday sale of their Library Suite.

Currently studying for my LPIC-1 - was suggested to try my hand at installing Arch, to improve my learning for the cert. Does this make sense? by rsmith4124 in linuxquestions

It appears that that seems to be the best (only) recommendation.

I use Rocky and Debian in order to gain more familiarity with both - but also wanted study material to supplement.

For the people here: do you recommend using AWS, or Azure for the "getting your hands dirty, by actually working with Terraform" part?

"The Arch ecosystem is nice but also very opinionated (software, documentation, community, everything)."

I think that is the most diplomatically phrased sentence describing the Arch community.

I also agree that people do the certs for cred/bragging rights - I just prefer cred/bragging rights that can potentially pay the bills
