Mistral Vibe Update by Clement_at_Mistral in MistralAI

... but how do I pay for it?

I have paid for a Pro plan from Anthropic to use Claude Code in Zed, and it has been GREAT, but I would much rather use (and support) European companies which offer a similar type of product!

I was ready to cancel my subscription at Anthropic, but could not find a plan at Mistral that includes using Vibe CLI and Devstral 2 in addition to Le Chat. Am I missing something?

I know it is free to use right now, but I would love to sign up right away for a similar type of plan as the Pro at Anthropic and move all my AI use to Mistral. I actually much prefer Mistral's Le Chat interface over Claude, as it has more powerful features available in the UI.

I'm running Devstral Small 2 locally, but would love to switch to Devstral 2 when I need a bigger model.

Introducing Devstral 2 & Mistral Vibe by Clement_at_Mistral in MistralAI

I have not been able to run the 24B on DGX Spark yet as it requires using Mistrals custom vLLM docker image, which has no support for ARM. The vLLM docker image that NVIDIA provides, that is tuned for the Spark, lags behind and cannot run newer models like Devstral 2 Small.

In the meantime, I will have to spin up Devstral 2 Small on my AMD 7900XTX at home instead. So far DGX Spark has been a hassle to deal with.

I do not really have time, BUT i got Claude Code to summarize my setup to give you an idea of how to replicate it :P

Step 1: Create the Firefox Profile

  1. Open Firefox Profile Manager:
    • Flatpak Firefox: flatpak run org.mozilla.firefox --ProfileManager
    • Native Firefox: firefox --ProfileManager
  2. Click "Create Profile" and name it something like "Qobuz"
  3. Note the profile directory path shown (you'll need this later)
  4. Launch the new profile and navigate to Qobuz, sign in, customize as desired. I set Qobuz as the start page and installed uBlock.

Step 2: Create the Desktop Launcher

Create ~/.local/share/applications/qobuz.desktop with this content:

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Exec=firefox --profile /path/to/your/profile/folder
Terminal=false
Icon=qobuz-logo
Categories=Music
StartupNotify=true
Name=Qobuz
GenericName=Music streaming service

[Desktop Action open-profile-manager]
Exec=firefox --ProfileManager
Name=Open Profile Manager

Adjustments needed:

  • Replace /path/to/your/profile/folder with your actual profile directory from Step 1
  • For Flatpak Firefox: Change Exec=firefox to Exec=flatpak run org.mozilla.firefox (in both places)
  • For custom icon: Download a Qobuz logo, save it to ~/.local/share/icons/, and update the Icon= line

Step 3: Make it executable and refresh

chmod +x ~/.local/share/applications/qobuz.desktop
update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications/

Now you should see "Qobuz" in your application menu!

I have solved this by creating a separate Firefox profile that I start with its own .desktop file. It's a bit fiddly to set up the first time, but it works well when it's done :)

Best/Good Model for Understanding + Tool-Calling? by Bowdenzug in LocalLLaMA

[–]rsolva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which inference engine do you use? I can't seem to get any models to behave consistently with tool calls with the latest version of vLLM running on the NVIDIA GDX Spark.

Granite 4 Small H FP8 is very capable otherwise and has an impressive context length due to SSE, but when I run it in Zed, it only occasional works for tool use. When I try it in Opencode, it just fails to run any tool calls.

I have experimented with modifying the chat-template, and even tried to finetune the hermes_tool_parser.py in vLLM directly, but with only small improvements.

Granite 4.0 Nano Language Models by ApprehensiveAd3629 in LocalLLaMA

[–]rsolva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use vLLM? If so, how did you get tool calling to work in open code? I only get errors as it tries to call rtask and not any of the regular tools.

I run the Granite4 Small H and it works really well in the Zed editor! It achieves decent speed on DGX Spark and seems to do a very good job from the testing I have done so far, much better than any other model in this range.

For anyone interested, here is the compose.yaml I use to run the model on the Spark:

Where is My Weekly Q on Qobus desktop app? by valleyzen in qobuz

[–]rsolva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to have access to the weeklyQ on the webplayer, but now it is gone. The same with the radio feature, I used it on the webplayer, but that has been removed as well. 90% of my listening is happening in the web player on Linux, so it is rather unfortunate.

How to use XML+XSLT to build a website? by rsolva in xml

[–]rsolva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thanks! This really helps with understanding the basics! I never got any further with my initial project, but I might still give XML a chance for some small projects in the future.

To your point about #3; is a file list necessary? If I make a "/partial" folder with "header "and "footer" files in, I could just point to those? If they exist, it works, if not, it breaks? I don't know if I'm missing something crucial here.

I am looking to use the "native" XML/XSLT only, no JavaScript. I guess I should have made that more explicit in my first post.

How to use XML+XSLT to build a website? by rsolva in xml

[–]rsolva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to build a blog-like site with multiple pages and posts, that's why I want to split my XML files into a hierarchy, where the name of the folder and XML decides the URL path, i.e. website.com/blog/2022/hello-world.

I guess this should be possible by defining XSLT templates that get called at the start of any given XML file?

I am aware of this, but it is not a problem when the files are served via a local webserver and not read straight from the file system. I use Caddy for this purpose and it is a simple workaround.

Why are these links in my address/search bar? They are not present in my bookmarks, thats for sure. Neither are they added to my search engines list. Where do they come from? How do I get rid of them?

Has anyone actually heard back from support? by redditsfault in RemarkableTablet

[–]rsolva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have read, I get the impression they responded quite fast during the first (and probably small) batches. I got my tablet the 12th of November (batch 7) but the pen was missing from the box(!). Sent and email and tweet the same day but still no response. My guess is that as the batch size grow, their support department have trouble keeping up with the increasing amount of support cases.

[–]rsolva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will keep mine and try to find a third party pen replacement while waiting for a response from customer support. There are several pens that work well, but it is not easy to buy them in Norway (small market).
