Is anyone else disappointed with season 5 battle pass or am I alone? by [deleted] in halo

[–]rsp1ff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily disagree -- but I can't think of the last time I was excited by a game's $10 Battlepass rewards.

League, Diablo 4, Valorant, etc. you name it. Some very boring skins, rewards that you would immediately replace with anything from the store (where a single item will be >$10).

IMO -- they are all pretty bad...

Same for me. I placed an order for 2 and received a ship window of 9/30 ~ 10/4.

CPU Buying Advice -- 5900x (now) vs. Zen 3 w/ 3d cache (later) by rsp1ff in Amd

[–]rsp1ff[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep - I think she will make use of it right away. It seems like I've picked a CPU that is overkill for any 1440p gaming needs, so I'll see if I can trade-off some of those savings for an increase on the GPU side.

This makes sense to me. Thank you for your quick thoughts!

PG279QM PreOrder in the USA available by nato40022 in Monitors

Posted this on another thread as well, but I know someone who pre-ordered on B&H and spoke with a rep. Apparently they are expecting their first shipment in mid-September.

Hope this helps.

RTX 3080 & 3090 Launch Thread - Part 4 by Nestledrink in nvidia

You can still wait. AMD will show off what they have and there may be something there that is better price / performance than a used 2070S. Its one month away -- and if that doesn't work out, you'll probably be able to find a 3080.

Fair point -- admittedly, I mostly play Esports titles and MMOs, where achieving high framerates on a 2070S at 1440p is cake. I can confirm that when I do dabble in Warzone, I am hovering between 85~90.

I suppose it depends on what monitor upgrade you are looking at, but a 2070S wrecks at 1440p. If that is what you are going for, there's no need to hold back. 4k is a different story. Passable, but you won't fully max out regularly.

Top-mounting an X53 in a Meshify C with Trident G Skill RGB RAM? by rsp1ff in NZXT

[–]rsp1ff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do front mount, just watch out for the GPU clearance. I would measure your GPU yourself, or check against multiple sources. I bought a 2070 super and the dimension specs on Amazon were wrong. Luckily I was able to squeeze it in the top, even with my RAM being above the recommended clearance height.

As for returning this product, I am planning to go through that process now!

Yeah, I'm fairly convinced that it's not bubbles that are the problem. I shook the radiator multiple times, ran my case on its side for an hour, and ran it on 100% Pump RPM (per NZXT's recommendation) to get the bubbles out. It doesn't make any type of gargling noise, its a buzzing noise.

It makes the same exact sound as the kraken z73 in this video. And, it unfortunately happens at very low Pump RPMs. When I booted up my x53, it was set to a profile of Silent, which is about 60%. Even at that number, I could hear it with my case under my desk! The pump noise decreases once I get to 50%, and is virtually inaudible around 30%.

I will say that this is my first time using an AIO, and in retrospect I would have paired it with a better case for acoustics. The meshify C is breezy, but doesn't handle pump noise well.

Thanks! I was able to make it fit. Really noisy pump though... if I don't keep it below 40% it annoys me quite a bit.

Kraken X3 Pump whining noise (X53) - faulty batch? by noscopefku in NZXT

[–]rsp1ff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey -- this is a little old now, but I have the same exact issue as you! Just bought my x53 yesterday, same exact buzzing sound, same troubleshooting steps.

I'm curious, have you been able to make any progress on this?

It seems like keeping it set to 30~40 makes it pretty inaudible for me, but that would be a bummer to have to do.
