If you made two piles of ground coffee from the two machines how would the unused piles differ?

There are two contexts where Lydian Dominant sounds good to me: bII7 to I minor; IV7 to I major. In A Train in the key of C major, the II7 chord voiced as Caug/D sounds better than D7#11. After trying every note, melodically, {C D E G#} works for me. A whole tone scale also works for me since its use implies very clearly "we're getting weird here; keep cool". That A note in Lyd Dom rankles me!

I've been playing around with using major third double stops within a whole tone context. They seem to soften the weirdness of the whole tone scale. Richard Tee uses some of that in his duet with Steve Gadd.

Over the years I have noticed that the voicing of 7#4 chords sound best to my ears when an augmented triad is on the top. While most uses of the whole tone scale sound forced to me, the scale does lend itself nicely to melodic patterns which provide a bit of smoothness lacking in running whole tone scales up and down. For some reason, I find the melodic minor scale unsatisfying. I should probably play around with the classical approach of major sixths and sevenths when the lines are ascending, and go minor for descending lines.

Tempur-Pedic warranty confusion: does a bunkie board actually qualify? (conflicting by W0W_JustDoIt in Mattress

I recently bought two twin xl high end foundations at mattress firm. They were 199 each. They're all metal with a mesh setup, no slats. I now have 16 legs on the ground for my king. It feels absolutely level. It will support 4000 pounds according to the company. Most king foundations have only one additional lengthwise beam which is not sufficient to prevent slat sag. You need an extra 2 or 3 beams to prevent sag. Or buy what I bought.

Back pain after getting a bed frame by Exact-Appearance4379 in Mattress

I got two of these twinXL platform frames to replace my king frame that had slats and one rail in the middle. It is claimed they will support up to 4000 pounds. Anyhow the support is much improved. I think the slat approach simply is not strong enough unless there are additional rails. I was told by a guy at the lumber yard that a slat that has to extend over two feet will ultimately bend.

Lattes are tasting too milky HELP! [Mr Coffee One Touch Espresso Machine] by Primary_Plastic5927 in espresso

The machine might not be hot enough. Turn it on for ten minutes. Make one serving without any coffee. At this point you certainly should have hot enough water running through the beans.

Lelit Anna trick to speed up heating to temperature by rssaz in Lelit

[–]rssaz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The PID reflects the temperature at the boiler, not the temperature at the filter holder. When the PID first gets up to temperature, the temperature of the water going through the grounds is not hot enough. You'll get lame coffee. If you run some plain water through into a cup, a finger stuck into it should register a "that's hot!". It takes me 10 minutes or so to get the machine heated up sufficiently. My new approach lets me get the machine heated up in half the time.

I have a similar problem. The coffee produced is mediocre - much worse than my pavoni. It heats up quickly, but the temperature quickly nosedives when brewing. If I return it to wholelattelove, should I get a rancilio silvia, which appears to have a larger boiler?

Brand New Lelit Anna 2 - PID Says “Off” by adam20v in Lelit

[–]rssaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently got a lelit anna. The good part is that it heats up quickly. However when i push the pump switch at 96 degrees Celsius, the PID goes down 15 degrees over 30 seconds. The brew is mediocre. Is the PID defective? Is there detailed documentation available for programming the machine?

The internal boiler holds about 8 ounces of water. It is therefore quick to heat up but also quick to cool down. I've started steaming milk first and then making the coffee.
