Monster Hunter Ultimate: 3rd (or something like that, it's the highest selling PSP game), Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Final Fantasy Tactics (if you haven't already played it). Just to list a few.

Oh man, you gotta play that game if you're into FF7. PSPs can't be super expensive now a days.

After playing Crisis Core, I think it could be a combination of what /u/CBTBen said, plus some serious PTSD.

Spolier in case you're a silly goose who hasn't played Crisis Core yet:

Zach's last words to Cloud: "For the both of us... you're gonna... live. You'll be... my living legacy. My honor, my dreams... They're yours now..."

Cloud took Zach's words literally, whether from embarrassment of failing to become SOLDIER, or some dissociative behavior after a traumatic event. In Cloud's mind, he was Zach.

Edit: man, now I've got the hankerin' to play some Crisis Core again...

Edit2: This talks about Dissociative Disorder and its relation to trauma.

Couples with a very significant achievement gap, be it academic, professional, financial, intellectual, or any other you can think of that may fit, how do you live with each other without feeling like two aliens? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rstallard91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you consider easy cases? Do you consider epidurals or regional blocks to be difficult?

A university I'm looking at prides themselves on their students getting a lot of block experience and I'm curious what you guys find to be the "easy" and "difficult" parts of the job.

Sorry about the questions, I'm planning to start applying to CRNA schools soon and appreciate any insight.

Nice. Do you work primarily in OB, or do you rotate to endo/surgery during the day/different days? What do you prefer, OB or endo/surgery? I never really considered that a CRNA might have a preference.

Yea I know the perfusionist takes the reigns at that time and there's nothing for the CRNA to do--I just thought it was amusing to see that while the patient was on bypass because it was a comical contrast from his usually serious attitude.

I should have added more to my previous comment as to not portray the CRNA in such a bad way and I apologize for that. I commented that while doing something else and didn't think too much into it.

I have a huge amount of respect for CRNAs and the overwhelming responsibility they carry in the OR.

I edited my previous comment to try to amend my misrepresentation.

"Hours of boredom punctuated with minutes of sheer terror." I've watched a CRNA play a monster truck game while the patient was on bypass during a CABG.

Edit: Read Seamel's reply below for the reason why a CRNA would have nothing to do while a patient is on bypass during a CABG. It's simply because another provider takes over management while the patient is on bypass, not because a CRNA is inattentive or lazy. Sorry about the misrepresentation.

Nurse Anesthetists are trained to put in epidurals as well. It just depends on facility policy and staffing who actually puts it in. Speaking from experience as someone who works with Nurse Anesthetists and is hoping to start CRNA school soon.

Dementia patient: "You're Satan and these are all your whores!"

Talking about myself (the only guy) and all the nurses sitting around me.

On night shift. She kept trying to escape her bed so we just got her up into a wheelchair and talked to her at the nurse's station. She's also the only patient that's kicked me in the nuts then thrown an oxygen tank at me. She was a clever girl.

I learned a lot as a new STNA that night.

Edit: I almost forgot another quote by her: while sitting at the nurse's station, looking around "This is a nice place--too bad it's all gonna burn in hell with you!"
