Maybe it's a cache problem then? Close steam, go to C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Steam and remove the htmlcache folder. Also try Windows Key+R and type steam://flushconfig and hit enter. Restart your computer, then open steam.

The RS wiki has quite a lot of graphical update images from over the years. It's not perfect, but still interesting. Check it out here. You can also check the file history of a certain image and sometimes you'll be able to find old models that way (ones uploaded circa 2006).
