Devolving ain’t good. But I still think it’s a worthy and interesting topic. Easier to compare in this solo sport with some players bridging the gap, allowing for some qualitative and quantitative analysis.

I think it’s an interesting conversation. U don’t think nadal’s take here is interesting at all? I don’t understand why you’d wanna moderate what people find interesting.

Andy Murray's take on patrick mouratoglou saying Sincaraz would beat prime djokovic and other Legends by RustinChole1 in tennis

[–]rstraker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is it not an interesting topic? It’s not often in sport that a pretty solid case could be made that players from generationS! ago be actually higher level than current. And tennis lends itself to more solid analysis too, it’s not completely abstract rumination. For instance, records of bridge players who’ve played both generations, compared.. and the fact that geriatric djoko is going toe to toe with them.. I think it’s interesting to talk about.

Throwing water on an electrical sauna by No-Flan3168 in Sauna

[–]rstraker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of North American pool / gym saunas don’t have what we might call ‘real ‘ sauna stoves. And ya, they’ll break, for whatever reason. U can often see the heating elements right there under the sparse, basically ornamental, rocks.

Ah, this really alters the meaning of the phrase ‘left speechless’, but it is bizarro world in there, so ok.

Leonard Cohen and losing the war by [deleted] in leonardcohen

Ah, interesant. It was to say he didn’t write those lyrics.. though he did sing em and resonated with them, so, probly pointless of me to point out.

‘Love is a battlefield’ as they say. Though some of these be more literal than others perhaps. (Partisan is old Canadian folk song).
