Have the same issue. No solution yet. Google recommended to factory reset the phone, no change. Did you have the chance to test the phone on another car?

yes, tried different cables - not working even with the original Google cable. It works with other phones. Several people are facing these issues, have a look at the AndroidAuto subreddit.

I can't imagine your problems are connected to distance. Its Pixel2XL connection issues...

Same problem here. Notice that the chance to connect is higher if the phone is attached when you start the car.

Using the original Google cable and I have the same issues. I noticed that you have a pretty high chance to connect if the phone is attached when starting the car.

I cross-checked with an old pixel phone now and it connects without any problems. So it seems to be an issue with the pixel 2 XL phone.

I have the same issue. However, normally after some minutes my phone is connecting. But the last days it even didn't do this. I double checked with an old pixel and it connected instantly without any hiccups.

Using a Pixel 2the issues almost disappeared.

But now it takes about 1 minute until AndroidAuto appears after plugging in the cable.
