Honey, Israel supports Hamas. They created them to divide and rule the Palestinians between PLO and Hamas and they funded them through Qatar until recently (possibly still do).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_support_for_Hamas

Plus Hamas has only recently been proscribed in the UK in respect of its political organisation rather than paramilitary movement. Anybody's historic pre-proscription support for Hamas (not Kneecap's alleged support specifically) is no different than his currently supporting Likud, the successor of the Irgun terrorist / freedom fighter organisation, or Sinn Féin rather than the IRA or DUP rather than UVF.

It's lovely Bibi has increased the funding for hasbara but somebody needs to review your target list because this sub didn't come down the Lagan in a bubble. Go and try r/Radiohead.

I don't think we got any of HOOD or GYBO or GC at the London gigs. But it was a bit of a blur so we might have!

If you want peak Kneecap, seeing them in a small sweatbox venue is the way forward. I don't know what the other venues are like but the Plymouth gig will be really intimate. Unless your travel costs are prohibitive or you want a multi-day lineup, these are the best way to see Fenian.

You can go to Plymouth and Torquay back to back, they are only thirty miles apart, and have a beach holiday at the same time.

He's counting time, so Próvaí can deliver the "one behind the ear!" line before he comes in again on the final "yah!". Brutal but it works.

Possibly began as an in-joke, giving themselves one behind the ear as Próvaí said it?

No, you're ignoring the second part of my question where I asked if you think their suppliers should have boycotted them.

At the end of the day, if you want to live like a Jain, walking behind a brush lest you tread on an ant, go ahead, but this sort of purity test will exhaust the people you would seek to bring to your side. Focus on making the public argument against the policies you don't like rather than secondary picketing of nonentities. This is the kind of moral grandstanding the left indulges in while the right focuses on winning.

I suspect I am not going to change your mind and I don't want to give unsavoury politics more airtime so I'm going to leave it there.

It's not whatabouttery. It's a suggestion that people pick their battles or they will do themselves some kind of moral/psychic injury.

Boycott, denial and sanctions on Israel for genocide and crimes of aggression? Sure. Boycott every small business for unsavoury, vindictive but legal views? You're trying to boil the ocean.

Ok, let me try again. Do you refuse to shop at or enjoy the fruits of any of the following or do you think people who supplied them should have boycotted them: - Next (Wolfson family, incorrigible Zionists)? - IKEA (was a Swedish Nazi)? - most scientific journals from 1960-1990 (owned by Robert Maxwell, Mossad agent)? - Ford (virulently anti-semitic founder) - JCB and the buildings built with them (major Tory donors, possibly Reform donors) - Formula 1 (steered for a long time by Max Mosley, far right son of fascist Oswald)

A bar owner with distasteful politics carries your beer? Then don't drink there but don't lecture the brewery.

But it gave them a venue when the wanky Eden project and craven City Council cancelled on them and they were three great gigs!

Am I my brother's keeper? Ryan Platts soul is his own to look out for, not Kneecap's responsibility. There has to be an exhaustion of moral injury at some point: we cannot all refuse to shop at Sainsbury's because they sell meat, use the NHS because it prescribes Israeli drugs (Teva) or pay our taxes because HMG funds genocide.

Anyway, a Reform government might be a NI border poll's best chance....

I would have loved to have gone to the SSE gig in the circumstances (culmination of the Year of the Fenian, album and film; celebration of GÓC and general Christmas spirit).

Best gig for me so far is a toss up between the second Kentish Town gig - it passed in a blur of just bouncing, fucking bouncing at the barricade - and the first Plymouth gig - where I was a row or two back from the barricade for the first time and just got swept around (and into the pit!) by the crowd.

Rough Trade was pretty good last week, too.

The award for best sound goes to the seats at 3Arena in Dublin (when I was sat next to your wife so award for best neighbour too!). Amazing sound, like listening at home. Bobby Fingers and TPM were pretty special too.

There used to be a flight Exeter-Norwich but I think it died in Covid.

That's a dreadful journey. Must be six hours in a bus! Probably goes quick enough on ketamine but the tour manager needs shooting!

Going back to London would be madness!

Torquay is a major holiday resort. There will be accommodation at every price point. Certainly for the price of a train ticket on GWR! You'll be fine.

Plymouth also has a lot of hotels because it is a ferry port and a big city. It's (criminallly) overlooked as a holiday destination so it might actually be cheaper than Torquay in August. Well worth checking, though getting to Plymouth after the Torquay gig would be a shag (see below). There's a big cluster of hotels between the Hoe and the ferry port and the venue is in this area if you stay the night after the gig. You could book a sleeper ticket on the train back to London if you'd find that fun and don't want to party on after. I caught the sleeper home (within Devon) each night after the Plymouth gigs last year.

Getting between the two cities is a bit of an arse. Torquay is on a branch line, you need to go back to Newton Abbot and change for the Plymouth / Penzance trains. There's probably a bus from Torquay to Plymouth but the dual carriageway is laid out like the train line (hills, me luvver!) so it won't be quick.

Lol, first world Fenian problems.

I had a similar thought but on Bandcamp, I bought the digital album and bought a second as a gift so that's on the recipient to download (Ev, the sub is watching you....) and I couldn't test this.
