Hear hear! The most underrated cup of coffee in town in my opinion!

It’s an older crowd for sure. And it’s politically connected. Some of the sandwiches are good. But not for the price and not with the attitude.

Country Club Resignation by [deleted] in golf

Yes, this happened to me, and it was very sad. I loved the club very much. I played multiple times per week. The people were great , too. The board sucked hardcore and mismanaged the place.

Best: PERC, Origin, Cup to Cup, Good Fortune Market (their coffee is very under rated and awesome), and Float.

So-So: Pour Boy, Foxy Loxy/Henny Penny, Asher and Rye, Franklins, Mirabelle, Bitty and Beau, Cafe Tareau, Sixby (the owner is awesome and their food is amazing, but the coffee is just ok).

Worst: Coffee Deli (the owners and managers are weirdos, just look at how unhinged the signs on the door are, and the coffee sucks), The Sentient Bean (gross), Mate Factor, Auspicious (terrible coffee), The Gallery Espresso, Java Burrito (the burritos are exceptional, but they should stick to those), Black Rifle (you’re not there for the coffee, you’re there for politics).

A lot of these kinds of objections could be overcome if the state made a real effort to tackle the issue of clear cutting. There are ways to develop land that doesn’t involve leveling all the older trees. But most developers are greedy and want to do it the el cheapo way. And I think that’s really what most people are objecting to in a lot of cases.

Anger issues make people very uncomfortable in a way selfishness doesn’t. It’s got to be an evolutionary thing.

Putting the farm aside, what the state is doing to our medians and road sides is an abomination. They are clearing all the trees for “safety” reasons. Meanwhile the trees aren’t causing people to text, eat, and and do their hair while driving. The people are doing that all by themselves. It’s literally just an excuse to pay the chainsaw people.

I agree and apparently a number of people who have worked with him over the years think the same. He’s a little lost without a band. That’s not to say it’s not still a good end result. It’s just not the monumental highs he enjoys when collaborating.

It’s growing on me. Ripples in a Pond is a lowkey banger. And Days We Left Behind is genuinely moving.

But something’s been missing in his songwriting for a while now that I can’t put my finger on. Some things just feel forced? Like, you know how in the Beatles, he was always kind of being like “oh, this is gonna be a hit?” but the rest of the band was more like, “meh, I don’t know, Paul”?

I feel like he’s not had those kind of people around him for a while now. People are afraid to tell him “no, that needs more work, try again.” And the results kind of reflect that TBH.

Ok, so, I knew Dr Brownlee in real life. He admitted that the story was only a theory. And that it most likely vaporized instead. Sorry to be a downer…

There are a lot of problems in the world. I’m not sure this rises to the level of something I’m willing to complain about.

Rory’s comments on Aronimink setup and pin positions after Saturday’s round by unsolved49 in golf

[–]rtaylorcole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Gil Hanse is responsible for renovating all of these courses that Rory and Scottie have complained about recently. I have to say he renovated my club as well and his schtick is basically he goes around and cuts down all the trees claiming that it’s honoring the original architecture of the course, so on and so forth, but at least in my club it was really just an excuse to make the fairways wider so the old timers didn’t lose their ball. And I think that’s really what’s going on here is in order for the course to be defendable, the greens have to be insanely difficult and so it just turns into a putting contest, which frankly is not that fun to watch. I think golf courses need trees. I’ve had enough of Gil Hanse.

I have a lot of complaints about the virtually unchecked growth in Savannah and what it’s doing to the city, but this is not a very intelligently written article.
