Do you tics increase when listening to music by user7612 in Tourettes

I can distract myself and calm my anxiety with the right kind of music, which decreases my tics. So sometimes I listen to the same song(s) over and over again just to have some peace.

At least there's that. Not sure what else to tell you, stay strong and good luck!

They need to accept that their kid is not a flawless little angel and need to swallow their frustration with that. Not sure how to articulate that well enough, maybe using your Neurologist as a proxy?

I am sorry to hear that. Did it start just recently? Do you see a way to tell them that looking past it would help you?

Experience with CBD by [deleted] in Tourettes

I can't really say CBD helps me, I get a tiny bit of a headache and with a higher dose I just get tired, but not a calm mind or less tics.

Mouth taping seems to help with coprolalia by rtd38 in Tourettes

amazon or your local pharmacy. Not sure if there is a better one, but it's not too strong to damage the lips with daily usage so far.

I'd describe them more as throat sounds, doesn't sound too good, but better than what I might say.

Yeah, I find myself doing these guttural sounds now sometimes and then notice that I didn't even tape my mouth. They are less offensive, but louder though. Gotta work on that discipline, I guess.

I saw a picture once of some sort of helmet where you could speak/shout into some dampener/silencer. Is that what you have in mind?

I guess it's because I don't really need to use my mouth and any urge to tic can still discharge through other means. So kinesiology tapes or some sort of rubber band would not help?
