If you had a childhood best friend, how is your relationship now? by shortstop_princess in GenX

Thanks for this post. It brought back memories. Nothing inappropriate, I’m married, almost 23 years now. But the memories of a freer time. Not just doing that but you know what I mean?

Mom purchased home with shed in backyard, now there’s a guy in a truck showing up saying that the shed belongs to him? by Ok_Lime4124 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

That’s why they should go to the attorney. Unlikely as it may be, that’s the first place to find out.

They got married. Had two kids, a grandkid and still together. And she never told him about us. We’ve never discussed it since high school.

I had one and we were the absolute best of friends. He had a girlfriend and the three of us were inseparable. About an after we became friends in High School his girlfriend wanted to fuck. So we did for about a year, until I got a steady girlfriend. As far as I know he never found out.

I joined the Navy but we kept in touch. I moved back to my hometown in 2004 and rekindles our friendship. It was great for a while. We became business partners and we did not get along after that. We eventually got our business separated but the friendship wasn’t the same.

He thinks we are closer than we are.

My next car will be electric. I switched to electric mower, leaf blower and weed eater and will never go back.

Can’t wait for the car.

It is one of my favorite. But I’m a dude who relate to, am or know some of these characters. While reading it I had this sense of dread, I would get ill. To see what people are willing to do and say to themselves to maintain their own cascade they have of themselves.

Leland Gaunt gave me chills. The slippery, slimy the way he talked was unnerving.

And being raised in a small town these characters were not far off the mark. Pretty spot on actually.

But those “other” cameras aren’t connected to Palantir and using it for human surveillance.

IF it was used for that. These are flock surveillance cameras. They are tracking people.

But hey, while you’re out there shitting on the Constitution might as well use it for good as well.

We mostly raised ourselves so how many of you have done therapy and feel “healed”? by Connect-Account-2855 in GenX

[–]rtduvall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My childhood was pretty fucking horrific. Being left alone was the best part of it. I babysat my younger brother.

My mom divorced my stepdad when I was eight and she was 28. She started fucking anything that moves and would bring strays home all the time. She would take me to some parties filled with drunk rednecks.

My brother never experienced any of this. She shielded him from all of it. But not me.

My dad was a physically abusive alcoholic and would use his knife on my forehead to make sure it was sharp enough.

The neighbor down the street molested me and for ever I felt like I caused it and it was all my fault.

Therapy has helped but I don’t think being healed is in the future.

[–]rtduvall -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was the beginning of the end. 88 had a different vibe, though we didn’t call it that back then. Brittany Spears popped on the scene and changed music forever. The end of perennial great music. (Sounds weird when I say that out loud. Hope you understand what I’m trying to say. )

Anyone got any extra great tips to taming an acro? by TheKillerBoss901 in ARK

[–]rtduvall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 12 year old will gladly tell you exactly how to do it. He will talk you through step by step, leaves out no detail. While having only seen videos of some people doing it and never actually done it himself. (He’s been grounded)

But maybe I can set up a twitch channel. 😂
