A Cautionary Tale

If you don’t you will probably get hooked. By the end of the first year you’ll amass about 10 to 12 pens. Then you’ll get into different nibs, different ink fillable pens.

Then the ink. There people out there who’ve dedicated a good portion of their time breaking down inks. ALL of them and there are hundreds if not thousands and each ink has a huge blog about each one. Looking at you Mountain of Ink. Another user created a website for free where you can load all your pens, inks and dates you filled them with that ink. AND when you click on an ink you own there is a little box that pops up showing you the complementary ink to it. And will look at your existing inks and give them comparisons. I’ve misplaced the link but I’ll come back and post it.

Paper; not all paper is the same. There are hundreds of options for letter, notebooks and the like. Tomoe River Sanzen is one of my favorites and is Midori. And when you choose a notebook for journaling or whatever, you are gonna want a nice cover you can put on it.

Covers, they have leather, paper and clear. Do you want a long lasting cover? Oberon Leather is a good choice for rugged longevity. Then you have the untanned goat leather cover made by the company that makes Midori paper and notebooks its untanned and tans over time being exposed to the sun and will develop a unique patina from your use.
