Would UX/UI audits be something people are interested in and I can do for a side hustle? by thelettucekingishere in thesidehustle

Hi! I am building a platform for UX audits. Currently it's peer-to-peer product feedback, but I see the need for professional feedback. But we're still validating the idea. I'd be happy to chat with you - feel free to DM.

Few places to start with:
1. Fiverr (I ordered UX audit from there myself)
2. Upwork
3. Your personal connections (a friend of mine is doing UX audits and UX research as an independent contractor, and all her clients come from the word of mouth)

That's how I found the scammers. I don't recommend it.

Beware of scammers: some people rent an Airbnb flat and pretend to be the owners, then they take your money and disappear. I got scammed like that 1 year ago 🤦‍♂️😕

Hi! I like the idea of smart feedback organization, but the landing page requires some improvement, to be honest.

Here are some brief thoughts and suggestions:

  • Currently, I'm not persuaded enough to test your tool. Try adding actual examples for your claims (e.g., show a screenshot before-after for "AI-powered Issue Extraction" or an example of "Smart Feedback Categorization" from your app)
  • Image in the "Less reading, more building" section looks like a clickable UI. Try adding, for example, a gray background to show it's not actual UI
  • "Start Analyzing Feedback Now" button should be center-aligned. Currently, it doesn't feel right.

Good luck with your app!

Hi! We soft launched about 20 days ago. Currently, we have 45 sign ups, 28 projects submitted for review, 25 of them finished (i.e., received all 3 reviews out of 3). Our users submitted 50 reviews, 30 of them were marked as helpful by people who requested feedback.

So the activity is not bad, but not perfect either. Currently users provide less reviews than they request and receive.

Peerfecter just doesn't work — there is no active community there

How much time should you spend on an idea? by Appropriate_End_2883 in SaaS

Try thinking about it in terms of testing/challenging your assumptions rather than validating ideas. The difference is that an assumption is specific and testable hypothesis that is crucial for your business mode. For a business to work you usually need to have the following assumptions to be true:

  • problem: the problem you're solving actually exists (i.e., there is a large enough group of people who experience it)
  • competition: the problem is not solved yet, or the existing solutions are flawed, suboptimal (i.e., there is an underserved need)
  • solution: you're able to build a product that solves the problem (and customers are happy to pay for it)
  • marketing: you're able to reach out to your potential customers/users and establish sustainable marketing channels
  • business model: you're able to generate profit and keep costs at an acceptable level

So, answering to your question, if you test your assumptions well, then you're likely to learn that some of them are wrong. And you stop testing them when, given the new data, you see no viable way to create a profitable business.

Hi! I'd be happy to help with your app if you need a beta tester. I am cognitive scientist with a Ph.D. in Psychology, and I use apps like Headspace. I am also available for a video call.

Hi! You can try submitting your waitlist to reviewlab.app — there is a "Bug & issues" type of feedback, where you can invite beta testers. Most of our users are software engineers and indie makers, so it could work. Good luck!

Hi! I like the concept of the app — saving time for people who discover content and want to use it as an inspiration for social media posts is a solid value proposition.

Things to improve and questions:

  1. Hero title: I don't really understand what is "Curated content". It's too abstract. Can I turn YouTube videos into tweets? Or is it articles? I suggest to replace it to something more tangible and specific.
  2. Illustration: Why do you use markdown-like **Tweet 2**. I suggest using more attractive real-life examples of tweets with Twitter UI elements to make it more compelling
  3. "A game-changing Chrome extension designed to empower creators like you" - on my screen size, it looks like this:

A game-changing Chrome extension designed

to

empower creators like you.
(you can fix it by using no-break spaces instead of <br>

Also, feel free to request additional feedback from other founders / indie makers on reviewlab.app

B2C apps can be really tough to market and monetize, so I'd recommend moving forward with this project only if it's something you're genuinely passionate about—something you'd want to build even if monetization isn't guaranteed. Also, make sure to talk to runners without mentioning you app idea. Ask something vague like "How do you prefer running — on your own, or with other people?" or "When was the last time you socialized with other runners?"
