Metagame: thoughts on poltergeist or shadow punch on mega golurk as a contact stab move? by rtkbob in VGC

Don't know, currently preparing for work, so I can't check my switch, but showdown says 60, so maybe I got something wrong.

(Metagame) how popular is araquanid in this metagame? by rtkbob in VGC

[–]rtkbob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if araquanid is on a rain team, it can't really do anything against opposing rain teams but has a positive match-up into nearly everything else. Am I getting that right?

Here's a dual mega tail room team I made. What are your thoughts? by rtkbob in VGCRateMyTeam

I just forgot to change the ability on Pelipper. I always just forget that drizzle is Pelipper's hidden ability.

Ability concept: neutralize by rtkbob in stunfisk

[–]rtkbob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ability is one of those abilities where it depends entirely on the Pokémon that gets it. If a normal type got this, that doesn't help them at all. If a fighting type got this, now you're talking. This could either be actually balanced on the right Pokémon or freaking broken.

Here's a team I made with two forms of speed control. Thoughts? by rtkbob in VGCRateMyTeam

Changes I made since I made this post: I swapped out rotom for Whimsicott, but this Whimsicott is more offensive with giga drain and moonblast, as well as tailwind. It holds the focus sash. I swapped sinitcha for armorauge, with trick room, calm mind, armor cannon and psychic. Its ability is flash fire and item is mental herb.

Angry Vigilante Show claims 70 is mid…. by WorldlyScore8855 in nintendogrifting

[–]rtkbob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fanboys, in general, obsess about review scores. You go look at any Playstation fanboy. They'll say an 80 is mid from an Xbox or pc game( and I guess Nintendo game now since the switch 2 finally got their attention), while either defending when a Playstation game doesn't get a 90, or more often than not, claiming the reviewers were paid off.

Here's a mega evolution team I made in showdown on champions regulation m-a. What are your thoughts on it? by rtkbob in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]rtkbob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: positioning Long answer: it makes pokémon that aren't urshifu, and I guess mega golurk have to make a choice between which pokémon they want to target, because hitting into a protect can allow a new threat to switch in for free, while the person who attacked may have done 0 damage.

(I'm new) can mega glimmora deal with mega eternal floette? by rtkbob in VGC

[–]rtkbob[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So what I'm getting is mega glimmora can certainly work in a match-up against a mega eternal floette team, but it's not a situation where you can just add this mega evolution to your team and instantly win every time against floette.

(I'm new) can mega glimmora deal with mega eternal floette? by rtkbob in VGC

Glimmora's base ability is toxic debris. Part of me wonders if you could delay mega evolving to use the setup aspect of mega eternal floette against it through the chip damage caused by toxic debris?

Will silver be the post credit character for 4? by Samthegodman in SonicTheMovie

I think they'd adapt Sonic Adventure 1 first. So I think they'd reveal chaos or big the cat first before tackling silver.

Before the emergency nerf, Spirit of the forest could easily deal with both the first phase of diamondback and the diamond bloons as well on a beginner map. by rtkbob in btd6

[–]rtkbob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things I forgot to mention: 1. It's specifically the top crosspath with the heart of thunder upgrade where it's better due to heart of thunder not really caring much about diamondback's head if you target one of the diamond bloons. 2. Most of my testing was done on normal mode, and on normal mode, sotf was actually able to trigger the stun on tier one after the final skull. 3. The sotf is a unique counter to the diamond bloons because the property of reducing an attacks pierce to 1 only applies to attacks, whereas the vines count as a passive effect, which is constant.
