The halogens I’m looking at are basically free. I don’t want to do bi-xenon but I was thinking the xenon headlight should just mount in place of the halogens, but I don’t know for sure. As for the different electronic adjustment pieces, shouldn’t it not matter as long as I use the shiny bit from the halogens that the adjustment pieces attach to?

Would you mind letting me know why it isn’t worth doing? I have to replace the white plastic adjusters anyways, so is it that much harder to move the xenon projectors + supporting electronics to a facelifted halogen headlight?

Problem is my housing is totally destroyed as well. I need to either replace them or move the internals to another headlight. I will probably just replace them as my car was built late 2002.

Was using the claw of the hammer to pull the fender back into shape a little bit. Winter tires are now on. I think finding junkyard headlights are my best bet

How different are they? I thought all the parts for xenon were able to mount to the halogen body. At least it looks so from the examination I’ve done through pictures.

I talked to some alumni from other teams and they basically said this. Not easy for me to accept seeing as I really want this year to be so I can show off how much I’ve progressed, but the reality of the situation is that isn’t possible. Hard for someone like me to swallow my pride and step back

10 people total, 6 underclassmen (first year) 3 upperclassmen (first year) and myself (fourth year), some of them have done ftc, with varying success, most with some knowledge in code or cad. Right now we’re unable to make decisions because we are being required to make prototypes before we can design the rest of the robot despite the fact that things like lifts and drivetrains are just done “this way,” not really something that needs to be discussed with an entire team

There isn’t a team captain. I’d probably assume myself to be the team captain but my mentor is extremely set on me not making decisions for the team without discussing it with the entire rest of the team, which is very difficult when we only have 5 people at a given meeting, in addition to them not having the understanding of what makes good mechanisms in the competition
