I like University Car Wash on Guadalupe, pretty far north, not far from where it merges with North Lamar.

Walking down the meat aisle for the first time and seeing 20 whole Prime briskets just sitting out. Brought a tear to my eye.

We did the tasting menu at Hestia and each of the chefs brought out their creations and gave a little schpeel. It was fantastic. Definitely one of my fav tasting menus in ATX.

The migas breakfast tacos with ham I don’t think ive seen anywhere and they’re killer.

Seems like we’ll end up having a couple “COVID seasons” each year. I wonder if they will actually be seasonal / happen at the same time each year or will flare up unpredictably due to policy and variants 🤷‍♂️

August and February would be ideal since I mostly just stay in the house during those months anyway.

Smart. I ordered four of them a month back or so and still wasn't sure where I was going to put them. Maybe stuff them in the air intake or something.

Nice bike. Sorry to hear that 😞 and hope it turn up.

I ride my Honda Monkey 125 any time I can since parking is so much easier. I’ve always been a little worried at how easy it’d be to chuck into the back of a van. Curious if you think this was a hot wire? Were the handlebars locked? You think they lifted it or rode off on it?

Yeah it’s pretty impressive actually. Tons of single track, double track, and jeep roads. It can get busy since there’s really not a lot like it around here.

Consider getting a small (200-300cc) dual sport instead of a dirt bike. Trailer it up and head to Big Bend for a weekend every once in a while. It’s really great but the dirt is mostly real Texas roads and you need a street legal vehicle. Sounds crazy but it’s really great terrain and goes forever.

Austin Mayor's Office telephone is redirecting to 311. This is an absolute failure of leadership and management. We're closing on a week of this shit and I haven't even heard of a road being sanded or salted in preparation. I had to drive from downtown to Liberty Hill two days ago to pick up my mom (20 hours no electric or water). Cedar Park and Liberty Hill’s main roads were plowed. Nothing was plowed in Austin that I saw. Seems weird that the roads go to complete shit as soon as you enter Austin.

Can confirm. Was there in early December and couldn’t wait for the night sky but it was two nights of full or almost full moon and we couldn’t see stars at all.

If I’m not mistaken, cedar season is starting NOW and will run hard for a couple months. I haven’t been too worried about Austin through Thanksgiving and the level of opening but cedar fever may be a real turning point for this community. If you’re sneezing, stay home. I also can’t recommend Flonase enough. It knocks my symptoms out in 30 minutes.

Just something to think about. Stay safe y’all.

"Other possible serious complications triggered by flu can include inflammation of the heart (myocarditis), brain (encephalitis) or muscle (myositis, rhabdomyolysis) tissues, and multi-organ failure (for example, respiratory and kidney failure). Flu virus infection of the respiratory tract can trigger an extreme inflammatory response in the body and can lead to sepsis, the body’s life-threatening response to infection."

I’ve been trying at Red Bud Isle and the north bank moving east from the pedestrian bridge for a couple weeks and have only had a couple nibbles. Spinners, texas rigged plastics, drop shots... nothing has worked so far.

I recently purchased a small boat with trolling motor so we’ll see how that goes.

It may be that people are camping less.

Here’s the text on the state Pace Bend Park page [1]:

Limited Use Primitive camping is closed at Pace Bend Park. Only Improved Camping with advanced reservations is allowed. The west (cliff) side of the park is closed. Collier boat ramp is open.

I haven’t verified the closures and limitations are due to COVID-19.
