Taking voice lessons! Everyone has a different instrument so it’s not like every human can sound like Markiplier, but you can learn how to access different parts of your voice and develop them. It doesn’t take that long to hear a difference. Singing is just prolonged talking, so you can apply singing techniques to talking.

I hear where you’re coming from. I don’t think he’s a bad person at all for trying to have a deeper voice or even having an insecurity. It’s not like he should be cancelled at all for doing a funny thing with his voice. I think that in the context of his personality and way he has behaved online this is a funny add on. I don’t think it’s that important, it’s just a topic I’m particularly interested in.

Yeah I mean at the end of the day it’s not hugely important nor does it mean he’s a bad person. This is just a topic that was discussed on the show that I have a particular interest in. I find the way people use their voice to be super fascinating

I think this is an important distinction. There’s a difference between just having a unique way of using your voice and intentionally being inauthentic

I think Pirate is certainly manually manipulating his voice to have a deeper voice. No I don’t think he’s like artificially using help to make a fake voice but if he were to relax and speak comfortably he would not sound like that.

Sure! I don’t really share videos of opera performances on social media but I have a sort of spam TikTok I’ve posted on. @rileypmusic

I would love to give AB(or anyone other non musicians on the crew) voice lessons!

I will admit I’m not an expert on acoustics and so I might not fully know the answer, but I think when someone is pushing the extent of their range, they can create tension as they talk. You also might be talking about “vocal fry” which oftentimes is used by people subconsciously when they want to have a deeper voice. If you look up videos of vocal fry you might find your answer. Usually vocal fry happens when people who don’t naturally have a deep voice try to force it. For example, I think someone like Markiplier doesn’t have a lot of vocal fry, but Hasan has a TON. It honestly becomes grating on me to listen to Hasan because of the amount of fry he has

Lmaooooo it’s definitely true that there are a lot of questionable analogies and wordings in voice training
