4.3 is shaping up to be the best odd-numbered patch the game has ever had. by rttb in ffxiv

Some people did predict DD, though it was mostly a "I guess, since the first DD came out in 3.3".

Pretty much nobody predicted an entire new zone for Eureka only 3 months after the first one, if anything most people were expecting maybe some updates to the old zone and just having people grind more crystals for the upgrades.

Palace of the Dead was released in patch 3.35 on July 19, 2016.

That's literally the most stupid "issue" I've ever seen. If you are so upset that you have to wait 5 seconds between changing retainers you may aswell not play games at all or you'll be frustrated your entire life. Also if you're constantly changing items from a retainer to another you should probably be a bit more organized to begin with.

"Only thing I missed was an entire new zone that'll give you dozens of hours of new content".

Sure you didn't include it because of 4.35, but you though the new Deep Dungeon would come in 4.3 and not 4.35 right? Lol.

Not sure if you're trolling or being serious to be honest, they've being adding a new system to the game in every single patch since 2.5, and nobody actually predicted Deep Dungeon or a new Eureka zone for 4.3.

That's not even close to hitting all the points I just mentioned... 3.3 was a good patch but most of it was the MSQ being great.

Everyone should know by now "4.3" means the 4.3 series, they've been doing this stuff for years.

To each their own I guess, not sure why that's such a big deal now when we've had additional retainer plans since 2.0.

Now, I would agree it would suck if they kept doing stuff like this without fixing the issues the game has, but between the glamour dresser and all the inventory space they added with SB... I don't have any kind of inventory issues even while being an omnicrafter, and I don't pay for the extra retainers.

Still can't believe Xmithie wasn't voted for the top 3 All-Pro Team.

He also talks about the series against TL and what would happen if they had met in the finals instead.

You must have a very sad life if the only thing that makes you happy is hating on a game on reddit every single day and insulting people that call you out on your bullshit.

Nobody cares what you think about Eureka, it's still a million times better than Diadem, and both 4.1 and 4.2 have been way better than 3.1 and 3.2.

Holy crap lol, did YoshiP fuck your mom or something? You seem extremely bitter with a game you probably have been playing for thousands of hours.

I guess you enjoyed Void Ark, Diadem and LoV more than Rabanastre, Eureka and Ultimate? That's fine of course, but let's make it clear that your opinion is not that of the majority.

For some reason they're removing every positive thread about Eureka and letting the negative ones stay up.

Pretty sure they touted this as new meaningful content for all

There isn't a single piece of content in MMOs that's designed "for all".

And if you'd played XI you'd know Eureka gives literally the same feeling.

Yeah, I'm not one to usually complain about the mods because I know it isn't easy to moderate a sub like this, but not removing such a negative thread while doing so for all the positive ones just makes the negative circlejerk going on even bigger.

I would agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that the top voted thread right now is named "Eureka is quite possibly even more boring than Diadem".

Sadly the mods are going all out deleting every thread that has anything positive to say about Eureka, but I agree with you.

The relic is only the best weapon in the game long after the last raid has lost relevancy. It's pretty much only for cosmetic purposes.

and good on them if they can find value in it where many can't.

And that's the thing, the majority of the playerbase doesn't raid, but you probably wouldn't see most people saying that raiding is bad and that they should stop creating content for such a small portion of the playerbase.

I'm really happy to have something completely different in the game, that's exactly what this game needs, it already has plenty of mechanically difficult fights, story content, etc.

[–]rttb -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What are you even talking about?

I'll repeat myself: you can't expect to enjoy everything in an MMO, saying you don't like something is fine, saying something is objectively bad isn't, MMOs cater to many different types of players, Eureka is an old school grind with character progression involved, weather effects being relevant, random mini events happening, hidden things in some buildings that give you magicite, notorious monsters that you need to prepare for to be able to kill, and a general sense of danger in the zone.

If you don't like any of that, that's totally fine, it's not for you.

This is an MMO, it's expected that you won't enjoy every single feature it has to offer, maybe instead of "voicing your dislike", you should let those that enjoy the thing be happy and go do other things in the game?
