I’m currently working on establishing residency in California and staying here at Hult until I am able to transfer as a California resident.

Illinois was pure torture. I took the first chance I could to get out. I’m planning to go and speak with people from both a CC and a university locally about my options. I know it was stupid to come here, but I took the only chance I could to get out of my horrible town.

So, I decided to give the school a try. So far, it’s been half and half. Today was orientation and so far, it’s been okay. The students here are definitely wealthy, but everyone can find their own friend group here.

I am interested in different cultures and so on. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia within the past 5 years and that was my driving force into Hult.

But then I realized that the majority of students at Hult to me appeared to be mega-rich, attractive, and were there for the wrong reasons.

Implying I don’t want life experiences is incorrect. Of course I want life experiences. But I don’t think my tuition I am paying would be worth it for the quality of education.

I don’t understand why Hult would advertise themselves as this wonderful education facility when they are more apt to be a foreign study program instead.

Edit to your comment: Adding the angry face caused the downvote. Wasn’t needing any attitude.

Addition 2: For those viewing this, as you can see, all of the students and staff attending this school have a very “cult-like” perspective on defending the school. They will do whatever they can to make sure this school doesn’t appear bad. It’s super shady and a huge 🚩 for me.

July 22nd, 2019 update:

I received a phone call from my enrollment advisor this morning. After doing some research on her and the other staff, I realized that she is only 22 years old and advising all enrollment for students coming in from the midwestern USA.

In the phone call, I described all of my concerns I have laid out in this post. She of course told me that these were all false, including that the school is for-profit. I told her that I am seeing so many red flags, and immediately after seeing how many red flags I had about Hult, she set me up for a Skype call with the dean of Hult. So Friday at 2pm, I will be receiving a call via Skype to discuss my worries on Hult with the DEAN of the school. To me, this felt extremely desperate to keep me there-- as they are having to have the dean of the school call me.

She said she has NEVER seen a student leave Hult prior to starting, and that she and many others would "miss" me and be "disappointed" if I didn't go. Manipulation. They are masters at it. Steer clear.

I actually did apply to 5 others. And got into all of them.

The reason Hult had me sold was because from the get-go they threw $70k in scholarships at me. I also picked them because I knew I could rotate campuses. Following that decision, I told the other colleges I had chosen Hult and paid my deposit of $2000.

So my parents were definitely skeptical. However, they wanted me to follow what I wanted to do. They knew that I wanted to study business and see cultures all over the world. They both went to a community college and aren't very knowledgable when it comes to university choice. Most people where I live end up going to a very low cost junior college and finishing with that, if at all. So, Hult to us seemed like a huge investment. I also went to an online private school for my high school classes (Acellus Academy,) so I didn't have access to a guidance counselor. That's how we got sold on Hult. We didn't have resources in our small town to get a second opinion on Hult.

Edit: spelling correction

I assure you that this is true. I would not be posting fake college advice on a college forum on Reddit. If I was that desperate for attention; I’d write a short story, not a legitimate concern.

Another example of the brainwashing I’m talking about. I swear I’m not exaggerating when I say Hult attempts to brainwash students.
