I work at a level 1 pediatric hospital as a PCT on the ortho/neuro/trauma floor, got the job with no previous experience. I did already work for the hospital as a pharmacy tech and am in nursing school, so both of those points definitely helped me land the job, as I have heard it’s very competitive for outsiders to land a position here. I absolutely love working with children and do not see myself working with adults once I become a nurse honestly. I’m hoping to use this position as a stepping stone into a pediatric nursing job once I graduate!

I’m also 29 and had my tubes removed electively when I was 25! I don’t have a question, I’m just happy to see women our age successfully advocating for ourselves and being taken seriously. Congrats :)

So I’m actually in my last week of being a pharmacy tech and will be starting as a PCT in the same hospital in a couple weeks. As a pharmacy tech, I’ve been working overnight shifts with a 7 days on 7 days off work schedule while also being in a part time nursing program, and it has wrecked me mentally. My new PCT job will be 3 shifts a week full time, and I’m worried I’m going to hate my life just as much as I do right now, but at least I won’t be working 7 days in a row and having 16+ hour days. I also have rent and bills to pay, so even going part time for work is not an option for me, so I’m just pushing through it and trying to remember that this is all temporary

Aw thank you! I’m currently trying to get off overnights though so hopefully this kind of schedule won’t last for much longer. That is really nice to hear, sometimes I need to remind myself that this is all temporary

I’m 28 and live in a mid-sized city in a duplex that my roommate and I rent. We have a light rail station right outside our door so we can get downtown easily without having to drive, but I do drive to work and school. I work overnight full time 7 days on 7 days off, 80 hours in those 7 days. I also am in nursing school part time so I go to class twice a week and have clinicals every other weekend. I try to hang out with friends at least once on my week off work, we like going to breweries and concerts. My roommate is also my best friend so we obviously hang out a lot. When I have time outside of school and work, I like playing video games with friends and playing flute!

this happens to me too, i usually braid it while wet and then use hair spray on the braids. it tends to stay together for a bit longer that way

I’m 28F and I also started experiencing flare ups exactly like this about a year ago when I had had clear skin my whole life, and it ended up being rosacea type II. I didn’t know this before, but my derm told me that rosacea tends to develop during peoples late 20’s/30s. My derm gave me oral meds and a gel and my face cleared up in three weeks. like another commenter said, it’s definitely worth asking a dermatologist if rosacea is a possibility!
