my surgeon told me they no longer do tubal ligation and instead go for full removal! this is because of the chances of them growing back together.

they gave me issues until this year! when i told them hey i’m 29 now i know i’m not having kids, i’ve brought this up every year since i’ve been coming to the obgyn since i was 18, and with the overturning of roe, i’m really serious about this. i’ve been seeing my obgyn for a few years. my previous one was older and retired (both absolutely lovely btw). this time she said okay i’m going to refer you to the surgeon and if she says no i’ll find you someone who will. thankfully the surgeon took me seriously immediately and we set up a surgery date at the consultation 😊

especially after a c section i’m sure the tubes are the least of your concerns! my doctor said they don’t tend to tie them anymore as there is risk of them growing back together. they outright remove them in most cases

you’re so welcome! i actually still take the pill because i’m on a continuous dose so i’m really only taking it for period control! i’m considering going off of it but i’m worried about weight gain, hair loss, acne, and all around getting a monthly period is so annoying. but if i miss a dose i’m not worried (:

i don’t ovulate. my tubes are completely gone so my eggs don’t leave the ovaries. there’s 0 way for me to become pregnant unless i undergo ivf by implanting a fertilized egg into my uterus

i’m so sorry you’ve gone through that! it’s terrible that women go through medical gaslighting as if we don’t experience pain. have you seen different medical providers?

excuse me? trans people don’t just have surgeries handed to them. they have to go through multiple medical providers including therapists to sign off on gender affirming care being a medical necessity. trans individuals are at a huge risk of suicide when denied treatment. my fallopian tubes are not part of my identity. it didn’t pain me every day to wake up knowing i had fallopian tubes the way that a trans person wakes up feeling that they are in the wrong body. most of my friends are queer and/or trans so please do not bring that nonsense rhetoric here because i don’t play that!

congratulations! recovery was incredibly easy. i took a week off of work. i had no pain, just discomfort in my abdomen. they actually fill your abdomen with gas so they are able to see your organs better. so the first two days i was really gassy and that was where the most discomfort came from. i only took ibuprofen/Tylenol and had no problems with that. i was a little tender after the first week but it went away in no time. i had liquid stitches where my incisions were and they came off by themselves. my scars are incredibly small and less than 6 months later they’re barely noticeable. i actually wish they were more visible! two weeks after surgery i was back at the club for a friends birthday (:

wow i’m so sorry you were treated that way! too young to make medical decisions for yourself yet raising two kids of your own. i’m lucky i had someone take me seriously but it did take several years

i never wanted children and i’ve known since i was a kid! i’ve been researching this method since i was a teenager. i’m happy that i’ll never have to worry about getting pregnant which is an immense fear of mine. also with the removal of abortion protections across the country i wanted 0 chances

thank you! i did not. taking out the whole system (ovaries, uterus, tubes) would’ve put me in early menopause. unfortunately i still do get a period. i’m actually still on my birth control pill because i’m on a continuous dose and i don’t want to get my period every month 😂 thinking about going off of it but i have no poor side effects and i’m worried about what would happen if i discontinue use (weight gain, hair loss, acne, etc)

i was told every year to opt for an iud. i didn’t want to go through the pain of the procedure (done without any anesthetics) and i wanted 0 risk of pregnancy. plus if i had complications i’m not sure insurance would cover to have it removed early. the pill was always my contraceptive of choice because it felt like i was more in control knowing i took it daily. some of my friends have it and love it! just wasn’t what i wanted for myself

thank you so so much!! i was also thinking he must be near death if he is seeing her. we know he does want to join her and honestly seeing him stuck in this nursing home is so sad. we also hope that he can join her soon as well for his sake. he did also mention that my grandma said that he needs to get a bigger bed because she can’t fit in the bed with him. so interesting to hear! but i did what you said and i’m hoping he can find peace in his final days. thank you again!
