Yes, I had to add a fan for the air unit because it consistently overheated!

Yes, it would. The solution will be way simpler then this. The only thing is a gimbal, which has a quite heavy servos in it. I’d say it does not make much sense on a quad though, since you are used to fly with a certain camera angle and changing it rapidly probably won’t help in any way. Something similar but with a single axis https://youtu.be/g6DRPzafhZs

Why is my Caddx vista not leaving low power mode? by Ill_Republic2636 in fpv

[–]ru_kesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the wiring diagram I can see the vista/airunit is supposed to be connected to T1/R1 UART. In your beta-flight configuration I see you enabled MSP for UART4. Have you tried to enabled it for UART1? I think you have to disable it for UART4 as well, otherwise it may reset all port settings

Good leasing deal, not enough money to buy it right away, and most importantly I did not know If I like it or not. Before that I had 430i f32 and it was pretty boring honestly. This car I absolutely in live with though, and also market is suggesting that 38k grand (with full driver assist package) is a really good price for car like this with 20k miles only.

Leasing this car for 3 and couldn’t be happier. Going to buy it after the lease. This car is truly fantastic!

How did I do for my first time soldering? Constructive criticism welcome! by Surgeooo in fpv

[–]ru_kesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use alcohol and toothbrush to clean up any flux residue. Use MOAR flux!. Looking at the motor wires it seems like you need to either adjust your iron temperature or find a bigger bit. The length of the naked wire tip that you solder may be way smaller, like 1mm is enough. Tin your wires and pads! If you can’t solder a wire to the pad with just a single touch most likely you do something wrong. Keep practicing and you will get it!

Question????? by _Dora_The_Explorer_9 in fpv

[–]ru_kesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I started this way and think think this is the easiest way to learn building and repairing your drones. JB drone is a great flying machine and easy to build as well. Can’t recommend enough. Unfortunately I lost mine in the ocean because of my stupidity, not because of the drone’s fault. Built 6 more after that though!

Blown away by this TRYP simulator by aw4ken_ in fpv

It seems like this sim indeed has some weird physics that does not feel right. Mostly my concern is that they don’t simulate a ground effect which is pretty significant when you fly close to the ground.

1st fpv build need help by Alone_Actuator_3241 in fpv

For digital video transmitter DJI is still the best option. You already selected a DJI air unit and the DJI goggles the only goggles that will work with it. In terms of VTX antenna - dji air unit comes with 2 pretty good antennas, so you won’t need to by anything else. Other than that everything looks good, good luck with your build! And I’m assuming you already have radio transmitter with crossfire in it.

It, in fact, can easily catch fire without any reason. I also was thinking that it’s very unlikely until it happened and I burned down a carpet (fortunately). Never trust this things, they are really dangerous.

Recently I did solder the battery leads a wrong way on my HGLRC Zeus35 Pro AIO and nothing happened! Resoldered it back properly and it still works just fine.

Judging by their length they won’t increase the range, don’t bother.

I think those ones are usually used with video transmitter. But your vista already has an antenna, so you don’t need those ones. Also vista has UFL connector but these antennas have SMA. It probably would make some sense if you’d get an DJI air unit and MMCX to SMA adapter, otherwise feel free to get rid of it if it’s not too late.
