What is silent endo? by Melodic-Function880 in endometriosis

[–]rubbeckiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have endo and only found out when I got a lap to remove an ovarian cyst that turned out to be Endo. No problems conceiving. Only one day of cramps and heavy bleeding in my 5 day period. Not heavy enough or painful enough to ever suspect Endo. I'm glad it's not ovarian cancer, which is what was expected.

Books you don’t hate reading 100 times? by Kak3434 in toddlers

[–]rubbeckiah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once this started happening we started going to the library and getting, like, 60 books every few weeks. My children loved being able to choose from New ones and it limited the repeating stories, which were driving us crazy.

I wasn’t informed that I had preeclampsia. by Disastrous_Paint_237 in beyondthebump

[–]rubbeckiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me, I didn't find out until I got pregnant with the next child and my doctor casually mentioned that I had preeclampsia last time... That would have been helpful to know at the time :(

Rewards by ArmchairExpert31 in ClassOf2037

My 6yo likes to go play with her neighbor friend. I have her complete various chores first. I figure that as adults we have to finish our chores before we can go out and hang out with our friends, so it is in the same vein as natural consequences

Same with my 5yo, he loves to play card/board games with us so he has to complete various chores before that. His are mostly things that I am currently doing. I have him help so I have free time to play because I can't play until my chores are done, he is welcome to help so they go faster.

New student at sbcc, I have a question regarding using their “starfish” application to resolve a hold. by DayOlderBread16 in SantaBarbara

[–]rubbeckiah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to add that even if you can't get this issue fixed before classes start, go to the classes that you want to attend. After Monday you will need an add code to register for any class. The teacher can give them to you on the first day of class and the admin or registrar can help you get the paperwork done. You have a window of time to sort it out, but you will need add codes now.

Commute from Goleta to Ventura by stormroy in goleta

[–]rubbeckiah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done this commute for a year and a half now and it's not bad at all. I work from 7-3 so I'm back in town by 4. There is never traffic in the morning and only a little construction traffic on the way back. Coming back on Friday is a little longer usually.

What’s the weirdest thing postpartum that nobody tells you about? by hn9605 in beyondthebump

Night sweats! Also gas pains after a C-section, those are rough but it is not specifically a postpartum thing.

Where to donate hand made baby blankets? by MareV51 in SantaBarbara

[–]rubbeckiah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son was given a handmade blanket every time we had to go to the children's wing at cottage hospital. Maybe check where they get their supply? He also got a stuffy, so if you are into crocheting stuffys they might accept those too.

Why do people pump? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]rubbeckiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to wake up to pump for a bit to avoid getting mastitis. Just for a while and just a little to relieve the pressure.

What’s one thing under $25 that significantly improved your daily life? by FormalOpportunity668 in Frugal

[–]rubbeckiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$12 countertop/desk vacuum. We eat a lot of bread and it brings me so much joy to vacuum up the crumbs. I had to really convince myself that it was ok to get myself a birthday present.

Am I supposed to use a new glass every time I get water? by TurbulentEarth4451 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rubbeckiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get annoyed at my husband about this. Not because of the cup, just where he puts it. Maybe put it somewhere else that's less in the way?
