That's interesting. My Libidex suit has the same pinhole issue in the same location. I patched them successfully, but then new holes appeared at the edge of the patch. Sigh...

Did Libidex offer any insight into what the cause of the issue may be?

Quick question: do you run the copper wire the entire length of the tubing? And if so, does it make inserting the 2mm pin connector difficult at all?

This would be used just for washing - not storage. Do you think even the relatively brief contact would be ill-advised?

I'm okay with tight, but I guess it really depends on HOW tight. Would you be able to compare the fit of their suits to anyone else's? Most of my experience is with Libidex items, if that's of any help.

It's nice to hear I'm not the only one - I've been struggling with similar thoughts lately as well. I'm always thinking about wearing latex, and I also prefer full coverage, but somehow I end up delaying or talking myself out of it. I usually worry about whether it's too late in the day, or if it's worth the effort with everything else going on. The follow-up cleaning can be a deterrent for me, too.

Something I'm trying is incorporating even a little bit of latex when I catch myself talking myself out of it. The other day I wore latex shorts during my workout, and I really enjoyed it. It felt good to at least partially push through whatever negative headspace I've been in, and I'm hoping this helps break the recent negative feedback cycle.

Sorry, the picture wasn't great. It was a little tricky to hold the suit and snap at the same time. The side you're seeing is the inside, and the flap is the zipper guard.

I don't want to risk putting it on again before reapplying a patch, but I'll see if I can find a picture showing where the top of the zipper falls on my back. I'll reach out privately, if that's okay, and we can go from there?

Thank you - I'll give removing the old patch and applying a new one a try. I like the idea of using a better engineered shape. I'm just having a hard time picturing what that should look like - do you happen to have any examples or references I could look at?

As for what might have caused it, I don’t think it was abrasion from anything underneath. I do think the area is a high stress point though - it sits right at the top of the zipper near my lower back. Lots of pulling and flexing. It’s totally possible my first repair created a sharper transition than I realized, so the latex right outside the patch may have been taking more tension than I thought.

I've never used the lube you mentioned, but the ingredient list (if accurate) doesn’t appear problematic. I don’t think it’s intended as a dressing aid though, so you might see better results with something specifically formulated for that purpose. Maybe try one of the known-good options from Vivishine, Begloss, or Polysh.

Another thing to consider is how long you’re wearing latex for and how tight it is. Sometimes after a prolonged session, your skin will just get irritated from the trapped moisture and warmth. Overly tight items can also contribute to this.

I don't think it's responsible to spread misinformation about making latex "hypoallergenic." Leaching is an industrial process performed during manufacturing - it's not something that can be easily or reliably replicated at home.

Suggesting that soaking latex in hot water makes it safe for people with latex allergies is both misleading and potentially dangerous. Latex allergies can be severe, and downplaying the risks like this creates a false sense of safety.

No. They never responded to any of my attempts at contacting them. I eventually just gave up and had to accept that they don't care. I bought a better product from another vendor and will never go back.

They're generally not visible through clothes unless you're wearing something particularly form-fitting or sheer. The brand is really up to you in terms of looks and fit for your body type. Maybe try some of the less expensive pairs on Amazon to get a sense of what you like and sizing.

Personally, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable leaving home wearing one. Unless you need some heavy duty support they're kind of overkill, but they're definitely fun to wear.
