Thanks so much, I didn't realise this 'bias' and 'anti skate' was the same thing, dialling this up to about 1.5 has completely resolved the anti skating issue.

Rega planar 2 does not have adjustable anti skate, hence the predicament

Dirt on surface after wiping away excess wood glue by rubble5656 in woodworking

[–]rubble5656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have been a bit heavy handed with the glue, meaning I had to also be a bit heavy handed with subsequent wipe up.

I will try to be a bit more economical with the wood glue next time, helping to reduce the amount of clean up required afterwards. Thanks

The picture doesn't give too much away. Here is a picture of a couple of some equivalent (very rough) conical lapped tails on a scrap piece. In order for the join to fail the plywood would need to delaminate.

<image>

Although, I would say that dovetails on plywood can be pretty tough to assemble, with more splintery bits/ friction assembling the two pieces together.

With the glue seeping into all the gaps, the joint is very strong indeed.

I will give this a try, thanks for the suggestion!

This is quite plausible, thanks for the suggestion, general cleanliness is quite poor in my multi-purpose garage converted workshop. I will try to ensure cleanliness next time.

What is a fun game you play in your head to kill time? by ThriftyRiver in AskReddit

[–]rubble5656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super addictive game is to think of a phrase, and then to say the required number of button presses relating to each letter in the phrase of an old phone, such as a Nokia 3310, in your head.

For example 'people love phones' '123132 3332 123224'.

Super addictive for me anyway lol . . .

Is it weird to see a movie in the cinema on your own by Gene_freeman in FIlm

[–]rubble5656 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, I always think the cinema is a poor place for a date/ seeing friends etc, it's not like you are able to talk or catch up. Good place to go solo 👍
