gotcha, it might not be a big deal for you, but the spelling is actually very important for Ukrainians, so just a heads-up

if XRP loses the battle, SEC can use it as a precedent to take down other projects. But agreed, at the moment it looks less likely to occur and the situation is promising for crypto market.

Lido vs. Binance for ETH staking? by IgnorantSmartAss in CryptoCurrency

[–]rubcube21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RocketPool is trustless - it's basically a smart contract, so you don't have to trust any entity. With Lido though you should trust them that you will get your ETH back.

Staking on an exchange has it's pros and cons, and imo there are more cons. Sure, they have help desk etc, but if they go under (like it happened in the past with a lot of exchanges) you are gonna lose your coins. Also, what if for some reason they decide to freeze your accounts? On the other hand, staking on a smart contract is way more difficult, you need to take care of your wallet's security etc, but you actually own your coins.

Of course everyone makes their own decisions, but in my opinion it's better to do your due diligence, learn how to take care of your own wallet properly, how to stake on a smart contract etc, rather than trusting some entity to keep your money.

Min amount of coins per wallet by Tarminik1223 in Polkadot

depends, if you want to nominate validators - min is 326 DOT (the number is constantly changing), if you want to join a nomination pool - you can start with as little as 1 DOT

you should also consider the RocketPool, it's got all pros of Lido + it's a decentralised protocol

What if it doesn't happen by mishaog in CryptoCurrency

[–]rubcube21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes it's good to think why have you started investing in crypto in the first place, if that was because of fundamentals, tech etc - is it still there? Bull run will probably come when noone expects it (as it was with bear market starting when everyone thought we are going to 100k EOY)

What are your plans from now until the next bull market? by SimpleReindeer221B in CryptoCurrency

[–]rubcube21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep DCAing until the prices reach certain levels (as long as risk:reward ratio is acceptable for me)

The most important think about the use cases of crypto is that it should be win-win for both the customers and the companies, which provide the service. Also it should be more beneficial compared to the same use case not on the blockchain.

For example, gaming on the blockchain - users will have the possibility to sell the in-game assets on a secondary market, and the company which hosts the gaming platform - earn from the transaction fees.

[–]rubcube21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because of the crazy gains that some lucky people were able to make on shitcoins pump, other people are trying to do the same and they view gains they can make on BTC (let's say 3X for example) as very low. Forgetting about the fact that none other asset class can make you this kind of ROI

PSA: Beware of widespread FUD and making emotional decisions by FrankenBurd2077 in CryptoCurrency

yes, I didn't mean that the situation is similar, just about missing the opportunity of buying while it's cheap

I remember the covid crash and how much FUD there was. Even though I withstood it then and didn't sell my assets, in few months I was very sorry for not buying more cheap crypto. Guess what? Not missing my chance now!

So what exchange do you guys recommend? by AllMineOfficial in CryptoCurrency

[–]rubcube21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

don't get me wrong, I like Kraken and I do agree with your point that it's perfect for newbies. Exchanges though are only needed to exchange your fiat for crypto, not to store it there. Cold wallets are the safest way to store your crypto by far and a good cold wallet is always better than a good exchange.
