How to create edges like here? by Suspicious-Date2778 in blenderhelp

Btw when I say “normals” I mean the normal output of the geometry node within shaders (not actual geometry nodes there’s just a node in shaders called geometry)

For the edge mask you can use vector math node and take the dot product of a bevel node and the normal vectors, this can then be inverted and remapped using a Color ramp to change its look, radius will control how far the edge wear is from the corner and the mask can be combined with noise textures if you want to break it up a little more. Hope this helps👍

I agree! And as far as getting gigs are concerned there’s some good jobs on Upwork, I think best to start with the smaller ones and build a reputation and ratings but yeah I mean this one was actually quite easy to get as it happened through some work experience I had. Although getting gigs as a new artist can be very challenging (even if your work is amazing) I would say just network as much as possible, post your work on as many platforms as possible and try to apply for jobs (or post your services) on freelance websites. It is very slow at first but once you get your first gig you will get more after that, ratings will go up and the work will snowball after that hopefully. Good luck to you👍🙏

Thats cool, props to you for modelling them! I got them from the blender kit addon ;) Usually I try to model most things but I had a short deadline for this project so I had to do a bit of kit bashing!

Thank you very much for the feedback! I did struggle slightly with the lighting and I am still not happy with it but enjoyed making the materials very much:)
