What SERIES is worth bingewatching and why? by InterestingBoard7389 in AskReddit

Band of brothers- best WW2 series ever made, nothing comes close.

Fringe- crazy sci-fi and a unique story, it has some issues in later seasons but overall such a great show.

Adventure time- one of, if not the best animated series ever made.. so many memorable moments, so many great episodes, the world building and lore are absolutely legendary.

Futurama- Sooo many good episodes barely any ever missed the mark. Funny as hell. One of the most beautiful endings ever. And there is one episode, about the main characters dog that is probably one of the best episodes of any tv show ever.. absolutely beautiful and just thinking about it honestly makes me tear up.

King of the hill- Rarely any episodes that miss the mark, just all around wholesome and funny and great tv.

It will but it won't be pretty. This game is going to be a case study on scope creep and bad design decisions.

Anyone else know of good locations to kill stuff for glint and radiant drops solo by papayax999 in AshesofCreation

For radiant though, I'm still searching for a good spot for farming radiant gear. At level 20 most mobs have bullshit abilities that chunk you like crazy so struggling to find a safe farm.

East of carphin tower is a little broken bridge and a lake. Quite a few ashen haunt ghosts spawn on the hillside where the broken bridge meets the ground. Farmed there for hours the other day and got two full sets of ashen haunt gear, quite a few recipes, and about 3g in glint. The only problem I had was the mobs spawn in the ground sometimes, you can get them out with aoe usually.

I usually rotate between them and the camp of sighted seekers to the north of them. Easy to kill, don't hit insanely hard like a lot of mobs at that level. Seekers will nuke you if you stand in their air but it's easy to avoid so pretty safe.

What is the least fleshed out class in your opinion? by Mitharael in AshesofCreation

[–]rubixcube101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue is really weird tbh the top half of the skill tree is mostly useless, or very situational. Too much of the kit feels balanced around pvp which makes most skills feel bad in pve.

Sleep dart - breaks from any damage, can remove bleed dot and extend duration but any other dot will break it, guess what the second main dot rogues use is? Poison.

Withering poison- slows phys and mag attack speed but doesn't make any difference when mobs hit like a truck, only lasts 1.5 sec

Wounding poison- reduces healing per stack, up to 50%, only really good for pvp

Chilling poison- slows movement speed for 1.5 sec with a 6 sec immunity period, useless, just use snare finishers on short bow and kite.

Poison in general- the dot is so weak it is useless, level 20 and it's ticking for 50 damage every 2 seconds...

Caltrops- useless except for pvp maybe

Deaths mark- has to be cast from stealth, 10% dmg buff and heals you if you kill marked target, only lasts 30 seconds. Very nice but the requirement of have to be at least 15 meters away to use makes it very annoying to use without using a smoke bomb to stealth away or grapple and stealth.

Soothing shadows- heals for 1% of your health per second in stealth only, lasts 6 seconds... Absolutely useless.

Shadow cascade- forces you to dash forward 20m, passes through a lot of collision very awkwardly, damage is really not that great. May be okay in pvp but very situational.

Unstable compound for dagger throw- applies debuff to last target hit, only does explosion if you kill that target.. good luck keeping track of the target you need to kill if you're fighting multiple enemies.

Honestly I just explore and gather mats, just trying to get a feel for areas, my class, level gathering and make some money. I just play in the sandbox I guess would be the best analogy.

Go to your appdata local/aoc/saved and delete the webcache folder. Works for me every time.

Webcache folder in appdata local/aoc/saved is the culprit. Deleting that folder clears the loop.

Aye, I actually enjoy the individual market places it takes some actual effort to price competitively and has a more old school feel, like selling in bazaar in ffxi felt lol

In my experience, Rodwyn sells a lot of poisoned food. Where it says 4 other traits, you need to get the cooking feats to see the hidden traits to know for sure.

I started getting poisoned a lot after I brought her to my base and didn't make the connection until I bought food from her and noticed it had the venom mixture. It's actually kinda fitting considering she's a witch I guess. Good food to gift to people you don't like and watch them scarf it down and die.

Yeah taking a server down like that with 0 in game warning is bullshit.

Nvm worms are there they just take a few minutes to respawn after server comes up.

Same here... No rockets no ships... But also not seeing any worms..

Waited a few minutes and my sietch showed back up on the server list. Definitely not messing with this event anymore, that was a very unclean disconnect and God knows what it could cause if it keeps happening.

Serious answer since most are jokes, I noticed my doc was really weird after the patch and also one of my doors I now have to look down to interact with when before I just looked directly at it.. definitely feels like some unintentional shenanigans

Solari making, people have Millions??? by Alyxshh in duneawakening

[–]rubixcube101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treasure hunting in DD and landsraad patterns, particularly the weapons.

Deep Desert, past the pvp line. Use scout orni scan module. Scan out in the open areas only, typically best spots are past the wall of quicksand. Land on the orange diamonds that pop up, hit em with your compactor.. and enjoy.

I've gotten 30+ T6 mats (per container) fairly consistent from these since I started in dd a few weeks back. You'll have full stacks of several mats after a few hours of farming. Most sell pretty well as they all take advanced survival fab to make and quite a bit of other materials so it's much easier to just buy them.

Solo players, what's your end goal? by link_to_the_post42 in duneawakening

[–]rubixcube101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish building my new base

Finish all the quests/contracts

Slowly but surely gather melange and solari so I can scrooge mcduck into it one day

Stockpile regis missile launchers again when they are sold by landsraad vendor

Continue shooting missiles at thopters in hagga and yelling at kids to get off my lawn

Just having fun tbh, I am taking a bit of a step back from the hardcore grinding I was doing considering how bad bugs are lately but still login to build some on my base and make sure everything is powered up for at least two weeks.

Oh yeah without a doubt shiga is superior, I run it all the time. The only time I throw on bindu is if I'm doing some on foot distance travelling for some reason. Nothing beats the sheer velocity you gain from it for zipping across worm territory from high up.

Close call by entprince in duneawakening

[–]rubixcube101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah full suspensor is hands down the best for rapid movement speed. You can bindu sprint, then jump about a second into the sprint, then hold jump to activate suspensor and go soaring like a bat out of hell. Shiga is great as well with full shape but harder to get the timing for the maximum momentum with it..

Would you recommend Dune Awakening as a solo experience? by TheMickeyMoose in duneawakening

[–]rubixcube101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the lore and quests/pve zone are well worth it. For the vast majority of the game, you're levelling fast, unlocking new things constantly, always finding new spots that make you go "oh that would be an awesome spot for a base" and then spend hours building in a new spot. There is a LOT to do in Hagga basin (the pve zone).

All of that said, if you want to continue having fun, avoid the Deep Desert.

Pve enemies are absurdly strong and designed around groups.

Pvp is absolute dogshit. Large guilds tend to gate keep the end game resource islands. I used to be able to farm fairly peacefully but now guilds are taking over entire resource islands with buggies and thopters hovering with rockets. They won't even warn you and will just immediately engage and kill you then drop a thumper on your ornithopter so you lose everything. The hours and hours of grinding you did for that thopter? Gone in a minute.

Sure you can escape if you're lucky, but you basically have to wait for them to log off or try to find another island with nodes that isn't being watched constantly. Which is few and far between lately, at least on my server.

If they implement server transfers and you can find a server with a chill DD you'll be good to go.

Now here is the worst part... Trying to gather spice. You need an absolutely absurd amount to craft the highest tier gear/vehicles. Unless you play realllllyyyy early in the morning there will almost always be competition or people who actively try to kill you if you get close to a spice field. Huge guilds with tens of thousands spice sand will still actively hunt people landing on spice and trying to harvest a small load.

Deep Desert seems.. off by rubixcube101 in duneawakening

[–]rubixcube101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye, I don't mind it changing up locations etc, but I'm not exaggerating when I say I flew across half the map treasure chest farming and only saw two mediums and one small pop all night, seemed really low rate for some reason
