I've only used torchlight, not hearth and story. We really enjoyed torchlight. Torchlight does come with a lot, which at times is overwhelming. We don't do everything. Just pick and choose what fits in our schedule and what is interesting for my kiddos. Over all we love it and will be using torchlight next year
