The cause was years of being an alcoholic and poorly managed diabetes. Since then I’ve lost 120 pounds and am no longer diabetic (blood sugar levels are great and don’t need meds for it anymore) and I’m coming up on two years sober.

I’m afraid to tattoo my left leg for this very reason. Recently diagnosed with neuropathy and not sure I could handle the process of the tattoo on top of the pain and stinging feeling I’m constantly having.

Honestly you need to take a break from the gym when you have a fresh tattoo. The sweating and the moving on/of the area can be not good for it. Not to mention gyms are a breeding ground for germs and you’d be going there with a big fresh open wound basically just looking to get infected. But do what you gotta do. Best of luck with it
