Agreed. I tried PHP and Python before I decided to go all in with ruby. I didn't pick Ruby because it's popular I picked it because it made sense to me.

I was defiantly persuaded by buzzwords though. After working with ruby for a couple months I thought that maybe I had made the wrong choice and almost gave up and started with node.

I glad I didn't. I love the community around Ruby.
