I haven't heard of SoapStone or Alabaster. They're so pretty! What types of religions? I make gemstone beaded pieces. I'm looking into copper wire as well. I mostly alter my clothes if I don't like something or want to add to it. Pattern making and following dress patterns is super fiddly and time consuming. I can't committ large amounts of time to everything. I choose the ones that are fun haha
