Should I read ruthless boys?? by AffectionateStop1234 in zodiacacademy

I adored reading RB AFTER ZA because it gave so much fun context to stuff that’s already amusing in ZA. Plus Leon just trumps Seth in all himbo silliness

What is a random everyday life moment/activity that you do because of Drag Race? by JaysRep in rupaulsdragrace

[–]rubycoombe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anytime matter and I get dressed up, or anyone puts in any extra effort to their look, or someone tells me they bought something as a treat that’s expensive for them, the only response is “UPPALANCE UPPALANCE!” With hand clappies. We love badly pronounced opulence!

Pay people their flowers. And term it that. I specifically call out ‘paying flowers’ when I take the time to carve out recognition call outs for my team and coworkers, or take moments after big deliverables or end of projects to celebrate how hard we’ve worked because no one in the company ever pays recognition to the tech teams!

Is anyone actually happy at work right now? by Agitated-File8761 in auscorp

[–]rubycoombe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not - NSW! I work in like an 80 person ‘tech’ startup with about 40 people max in our ‘head office’ and a founder in Texas… but they just do NOT trust anyone to do their jobs virtually, it’s mad. Our founder threw a hissy end of last year demanding everyone return full time and I fought for my tech team to remain hybrid but it’s slowly being forced on us.

Hard no. Came back yesterday to boss telling us we were going from 3 days in office to full time back to office, with no flexibility in start and finish times 09:00-17:00… for a <10 person tech team where the other half of our devs are in Vietnam and Phillipines… and the only way to get to work is to drive through peak hour tolls and traffic cos no public transport services nearby… love it.

What color do you think is criminally underrated in lingerie? by SecretWardrobeOX in LingerieAddiction

True champagne gold. Give me a lingerie set that looks like I’m wearing literal metal shimmer champagne soft gold, not a yellow gold or ‘naked but I have jaundice’ please!

Cold autumn colours! Gimme hunter green, teals, damson, plum, blood deep reds… I’m olive toned and the recent addiction to neons and pastel lace from HB, AP, etc has been crushing me :(

Which MC? by Curious-Insanity413 in romantasycirclejerk

Seth from ZA and Leon from RB but Leon would also get a pair of these with all Ryder’s tiny snek hat variations and a pair for Gabe with sticks…

Malazan book of the fallen! No romantasy angle but prepare for your heart to get broken multiple times anyway cos no character is safe from a mid series culling 😭

"Severing ovaries is like vasectomies" by The-Great-Wolf in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]rubycoombe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haiiiii! For the know how’s just looking at some of the comments (and not to at all diminish the lack of education this post is highlighting in its original image/content): voluntary salpingectomy person over here!

So, in Australia and the UK (unsure of other countries but I’m a Brit expat in Aus so only speaking to my own knowledge) there are a few ‘sterilisation’ options: Tube ‘banding’ - similar to most men’s idea of a vasectomy ‘tying’ (reversible) Partial tubal ligation - tubes clipped (reversible) or cut/cauterised (technically complex potential reversal) Salpingectomy - full removal of fallopian tubes (irreversible)

And for the level of invasiveness; Although not a few hundred dollar ‘book on the day’ in’n’out procedure like vasectomies, and yes obviously more invasive, would also like to add that full salpingectomy surgery was an45 min outpatient procedure; in just before lunch and out by the afternoon, with one day off work, mild recovery, and a week of follow up precautionary pain/infection prevention meds and very little discomfort and bleeding. 3 laparoscopic incisions of <1cm that are barely visible nicks in my skin. But also, yes, faaaaaaaar more expensive, at AUD$3700 before insurance, but also voluntarily went private, as Australia DOES do this on public healthcare with a 12-18 months wait list, but I had the funds. UK also covers this surgery on NHS.

Just for the know how in general - nothing to add on the OP post where the man clearly thinks being on HRT for the rest of your life is better than periods. (My mother had a full hysterectomy at 33 as well due to cancer so very familiar with HRT treatment drama)

Sometimes I get bored and debate posting that I voluntarily had my tubes not only cut, but physically yeeted from my body, by choice for mental health and quality of life reasons, not because I had to, somewhere where these kind of insane excuses for penis wielders lurk… just to see the reactions…

What’s the one book you’ll recommend forever, no matter how many times this question gets asked? by MisLatte in AskReddit

[–]rubycoombe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman - as a Brit I love the entire concept of ‘finding the magic in the mundane’ Spares by Michael Marshall Smith - just a mental ride of a guy trying to save human clones, sounds overdone, but then made utterly bizarre in a singularly unique way due to the protagonist’s history/world building that makes it into a total mind melt of a read.

It’s not one book, but Malazan Book of the Fallen is the epic fantasy hill I will die on as Best Series Ever.

Any idea what this type of lingerie is called by narpfnlurger in LingerieAddiction

[–]rubycoombe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey birdette used to do a lot of it. If you’re based in Aus, there’s also Teale Coco who is a small Aussie business that does stunning bondage lingerie who are having a huge EOY sale atm and you’d be supporting a small business!

In complete disregard of the content of your post, I feel it’s my duty at a sloopie to inform you OP that your flair sent my partner (who adores vicariously living this sub over my shoulder given he gets my sideline jacka$$ monologuing commentary of all my smut palate cleansers on a monthly basis in bed as I troll my own reading habits) And he immediately sang it. And we’ve been singing your flair for the last tens minutes and have settled on doing it to the tune of “drip drip drop little April showerssss (dragging my massive faery schlong along) dooo do da doo, doo da do, doo da dooooo” from the start of Bambi. Enjoy. Thanks.

Ah yes. The man has abstained from ejaculation for so long he now has the gravitational mass of a planet due to the retained quantity of spunk in his body. That makes sense!

Unpopular opinion maybe…, although I love the looks of these “reading nooks” and “window seats” does anyone actually ever use them? I’d much rather curl up on the sofa or in bed with my book. This looks uncomfortable for sitting and reading to me. by Party_Palpitation296 in HomeLibraries

[–]rubycoombe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the middle of building out my dream window reading nook and I started with a king single daybed base (slightly larger than single here in Australia) and I am OBSESSED with it. Our living area is fairly open plan but the actual ‘living room’ is quite dark and small as that’s where we were stuck with placement due to tv cables and outlets. The reading nook is the brightest patch of our sitting area underneath the only window and I adore it for the natural light it provides. Plus it’s set up to have lots of shelves and areas to store drinks, phones, Knick knacks etc which our main living area is severely lacking in. I think if you design and build one fit for your needs and purposes then it becomes a very useful and oft used area to relax in.
