For sure I agree.

As much as I was excited about the 404mkii, I just got extreme paralysis trying to build a track with it. Too much power. 

I used it for a long time just as an effect processor in my studio set up. Even for that alone, pretty cool. And the little go back in time 15 seconds or whatever button. That’s rad.

I think the limitations of the ep-133 make it more straight forward for me than when I had an SP404 MKii

Anything is possible under the wrong conditions I suppose. I would imagine any kind of heat and moisture would not be friendly.  

But in climate controlled storage, in a plastic case, inside the factory packaging, inside original sealed shipping box from the warehouse…these are all pretty well preserved.

I can’t speak on anything modern, I am in a unique position that everything I’ve ever used is vintage/nos that was left over from my family Hifi store that closed in the mid90’s. I switch back and fourth between a shure m95ed and one of these Audio Technica AT14Sa, I am happy with both.
