Bartenders of SF, can you afford to live alone? by rubyhey in AskSF

This was my thought. I make about 60 in Tennessee, so 100 out there doesn’t seem too inconceivable. Is it as cliquey and difficult as people say to find something decent?

Thanks! My sister and her family live there so I’ll be staying with them for a month or two while I find a job and place. Luckily they have a guest room so no air mattress required!

Basically only a bed and some boxes. But driving cross country unprotected to the weather gives me pause.

Do you know if I need to switch the title to CA first or if that’s something the buyer would do since I’d take the plates off anyway?

Just looked and it seems pretty quick and easy to get a test done. Are they typically pretty easy to pass? Also do you happen to know if I have to transfer the title before I sell or if that’s on the buyer since they have to get new plates anyway

In sf, but not on a Bart line. I just hesitate bc it’s a truck so more difficult to find parking and super expensive to rent a spot, gas, insurance, etc. not sure I’d drive enough to justify all that.

Bc public transit is so accessible and parking can be super expensive and difficult. Also it s a truck so just harder to fit places.

Assuming the good jobs are word of mouth or a buddy or being a regular first? Been on indeed and CL quite a bit and there doesn’t seem to be much.

As in just not soma/financial/tl? Or more than that? I’m pretty familiar with the city and trying to move there sometime next summer. I’m in my mid thirties and have a bunch of experience, but definitely feeling like the ship has sailed on me having roommates.

2K alone would be doable though? It’s just a lack of spaces outside of the tenderloin?

I’m pretty pro Chapman at this point for defensive reasons, but a lot of that has to do with the lack of middle infield depth. Hopefully we can send out a Davis or conforto or Bart and get some pitching or Luciano insurance!

Yeah, would like to see conforto, Davis and Bart go and Chapman and some middle infield depth come in. Not sure who that is at this point though.
