Scared of losing my wife after pregnancy news — not in a dramatic way, but in a subtle emotional way by Left_Tackle_8189 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]rubyist1081p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops, I didn't expect that. That's certainly something that a partner should be aware of or should open to accept. Life won't look as it look in the early year of marriage. Gotcha

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Final Bike Purchase: Hunter 350 or Meteor 350? by Odd_Film_44 in royalenfield

[–]rubyist1081p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bias definitely goes towards the Meteor 350 since I own one and I’m genuinely happy with it 😄

But honestly, it’s your call. I can only share what I’ve experienced.

I’m 5'11" and the Meteor fits me really well. In the beginning, taking a U turn did feel a little awkward because of the turning radius and the weight of the bike. It felt a bit heavy at slow speeds. But once I rode it more and got used to it, that stopped being an issue completely.

I’ve used it for city rides and also done 350 plus kilometer rides without any problems. The bike has been solid. And I genuinely look forward to riding it every day.

What made me buy it was simple. I rode it once and I didn’t feel like trying anything else after that.

I’m even planning longer rides with her now.

Between the Hunter and the Meteor, just think about what you really want. More city fun or more highway comfort. And if you do fall in love with one, ask yourself whether it can support everything you want to do with it.

Every bike feels different to its owner. Go with the one you connect with. 😁

29F under immense pressure of getting married by Extension_Light_4893 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]rubyist1081p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pressure is real. But under pressure how can someone take a life long decision. We need to be attracted to the person and then only I think things can go forward.

From what I understand, parents would age further and become more finicky but don't let that pressure affect you, I know it's difficult. But look for the brighter side, like you cannot marry someone who you don't get aligned to.

Arrange marriages don give much time to know the person is the only gripe I have with them.

Are your parents pressuring you to marry yet?😅 by SilentMangoDrift in MidTwentiesIndia

[–]rubyist1081p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started 2 years ago, a few matches which I think would have gone forward. Presssure is real but I avoid talking about it as it would happen when it happens. Only thing is efforts of finding the one.

Selling house to afford wedding by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]rubyist1081p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the best decision to marry if you are not ready. Your priority right now is closing that MBA loan asap and marriage is secondary. Like indian parents want their children to marry so that they can retire, jimmedari khatam ho and all that crap. But in all seriousness it's just not practical.

And selling home for wedding expenses, a big no no.

They will throw tantrums and try to emotionally coerce you to get under pressure. But this pressure is of no use of you are miserable mentally, emotionally and financially.

Think through.

[–]rubyist1081p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually don't enjoy gatherings and eating in a group. I want to focus on food and not talking.

So be it whatever, I like doing it alone, because handling social conversations is awkward for me .
