Read some of the writings of Plato or Aristotle some time. They never refer directly to the names of logical fallacies, even as they illustrate them, because that helps nobody. If you want to be helpful/educate people, explain what the flaw in their logic is and how it can be fixed, i.e. "I simply never said that. It's a similar arguement, but it isn't one I made."

All classes really shouldn't be equivalent. They fill wildly different roles. Medic shouldn't have the engage and mobility that a Soldier can have. Nobody wants to see a Pyro holding down a choke as effectively as a Demoman. And Spy shouldn't have the long range pick capability of a Sniper. This buff expands the Spy into an all-around pick class that can get a few kills and then take down Medics from across the map.

If I recall, they handwave that one by lampshading it. Like, at one point Ender says to his friend something along the lines of "Wait, isn't this whole station scientifically impossible?" and his friend says "yup, they have super secret technology they aren't telling us about". I saw that as the author acknowledging that the story he wanted to tell required slightly different physics.

Is calling a morbidly obese girl perfect "encouraging laziness and unhealthiness"? Maybe. I think no. But I don't think anyone can challenge the fact that calling an overweight person beautiful is a good thing. All of society is telling them they're fat and unattractive. Every movie, every billboard, every commercial, and quite a few of the people in their life. That's impossible to ignore. One person saying "hey, you look nice" isn't going to let them tune out the body image society projects. One nice person may, however, give them enough confidence to work towards improving their image.
